E te tī, e te tā, e ngā hau e whā! Tēnei te karanga ka tono mai ngā ringaringa me ngā waewae o Te Whatukura o Papanui.

We warmly invite our wider school community to support Te Whānau o Papanui at our upcoming Te Ao Haka Night on 14 August. This special event brings together performers from our own kura alongside invited community groups to celebrate kapa haka and Māori performing arts.

The evening is a significant milestone for our senior Te Ao Haka students. They will perform a haka bracket before a live audience as a key part of their assessment programme. This authentic setting allows our ākonga to demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and confidence they have developed through their hard work this year.

We will be treated to a diverse range of performances from the following groups:

Te Mātātoa o Papanui: Senior Te Ao Haka class
Te Mātātipu o Papanui: Junior Māori Performing Arts class
Te Whānau o Papanui: Papanui High School Māori Department
Kōkō Tangiwai and Kōkō Kahotea: Senior kapa haka groups
Te Kura Kōhine o Ōtautahi: Avonside Girls' High School
Ngā Tama o Ōruapaeroa: Shirley Boys' High School

We look forward to welcoming whānau and supporters to a memorable evening of waiata, haka, and shared culture.
