Revitup Strength & Fitness
We run a Mums strength and fitness group in a private gym studio down Vagues Road (number 50).

We have Mums groups Monday to Friday 9.00am and 9.30am.

Could our group be mentioned in the news letter? This is the perfect solution for Mums to exercise right after school drop-off and would benefit them and their children greatly.

We also do a kids/teens strength and fitness group Tuesday and Thursdays at 3.30pm. This is currently full but we will have openings next term.

Methven Scarecrow Trail: Saturday April 13 – Sunday April 28, 2024

The Methven Scarecrow Trail is a hugely popular and fun family event run in the April school holidays. It is suitable for all ages!

Every year, members of the Methven community build scarecrows to a particular theme and these scarecrows, usually around 30+ in number, are scattered around the town for families to find and try to identify the name of the character. This year's theme is Children's Movie - Animated Characters. Families or small groups purchase a Trail Map/Entry form from the iHub Information Centre and there are sponsored prizes for the most correct entries and for the most popular scarecrows.

Don't forget to like the Scarecrow Trail FB page if possible - this is where we post messages and the results -

Methven Scarecrow Trail Looking for an awesome school holiday activity?
Held during the April School Holidays each year.

Our club is based at Edgar MacIntosh Park on Condell Avenue in Bryndwr and we are offering free subs, mouthguard, professional team photo and a wet weather shell jacket for all players that join our Year 7 mixed tackle team this season. We can also help find secondhand boots or support a family to purchase some if necessary. Students need to be in Year 7, or can be in Year 6 if they are 52 kg or over, or Year 8 if they weigh 45 kg or less.

We think this is a great opportunity to become part of a supportive community club, while keeping healthy and making friends and positive connections through sport.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask or join our page for further updates (Search up: Marist Albion Rugby Club).

Compete in the upcoming McDonalds 2024 Duathlon, to be held at South Hagley Park on Sunday 7th April.

This event, involving run and cycle stages, is for individual entrants aged 7 to 15 years old.

The Rotary Club of Garden City has organised this event for many years to promote the development of healthy, fun loving and well adjusted young people.

Our emphasis is on participation rather than competition and in line with this, all entries go in a lucky draw for two mountain bikes and helmets.

All competitors will on the day receive a competition shirt, which they must wear to compete as well as a medal, certificate and goodie bag.

We hope you will encourage your students to enter by including the attached promotional poster in any electronic newsletters that your school distributes. (PDF)

Online entries are now open with full information available at

Visit for more information and to register.

North Parish Picnic

Bring your picnic baskets, your chilly bins, your sunhat and your cricket sets (or soccer ball or frisbee) and join us for our Annual Parish Picnic.

We've got access to a BBQ so bring your own meat if you want to make use of it, and Hannah (our Youth Worker) will help lead the Orienteering for our young people at 1pm.

Come and enjoy fellowship and meet new friends at our Parish Picnic! All are welcome!
