Waitākiri School

Its very upsetting that we have had damage over the weekend on our back field from electric scooter/bikes. We have had ongoing issues with teenagers coming through the school and thinking it's a lot if fun to do skids and tear up the grounds. If you know of anyone who is doing this please have a chat with them or let us know and we can follow up as it's not fair on our students to have their school treated this way. We thank everyone for their help with this.

A big THANK YOU to the team at Mitre 10 MEGA Prestons for all of your help moving our furniture, not once but twice. Really appreciated your help!!

We celebrated our Cup winners last week at the Year 6 leavers celebration. Congratulations to you all.

Today we officially opened our new Sensory Garden, a special legacy project created by our Year 6 students Ruby, Maddie and Sadie from R3.

Designed as a calm and welcoming space, the garden is a place for students to relax, practise mindfulness, explore their senses, enjoy nature, and spend time with friends. It is something our Year 6s are proud to leave for future classes to enjoy.

Thank you to all the students who supported the project through fundraising, our amazing staff for their help and encouragement, and Woody for his practical skills and knowledge to make the garden a reality.

We are so proud of our students and can’t wait to see this space enjoyed by our school community.
