We hope you are keeping safe and well! Mana Ake have offered us this amazing parenting programme FREE for our whānau in our local area! Our own Mana Ake kaimahi - liaison person, Bethany is leading it locally but there are courses all over the city to meet whānau needs.

Tuning Into Kids is a parenting programme that aims to give you helpful ways of teaching your child the skills of emotional intelligence. The programme teaches you about how you, as a parent, can help your child develop good emotional skills.

Previous research has found that parenting styles can influence a child’s emotional intelligence. Emotional intelligence is the ability to understand and control your emotions, as well as being able to communicate to others about how you feel. Children with good emotional intelligence often have better emotional, social, and physical functioning, as well as fewer behavioural difficulties.

So true! We have a great range of indoor and outdoor activities to keep the kids entertained. We even have warm coats available to use for those outside kids. Pop along and see us Mon, Wed and Fri 9-12.30.
