The ultimate team and individual challenge...low ropes courses. Our students had one of their two low ropes activity days last week (apart from snowy Tuesday, when their challenges were held indoors instead). Our groups are really starting to channel and master their inner mountain goats 🐐

Last week, our students challenged their balance on the slackline. They began by warming up their teamwork, spotting, and footing on the Bottle Lake Forest balance beams before heading into the forest to set up the slackline. Our students have become pros at setting it up and completing challenges along the line.

📣 Our rope term theme is “Masters of Gravity”, with the mountain goat as our inspiration, an animal with a fearless spirit and legendary balance. We will use the mountain goat to inspire us to conquer new heights, find stable footing, and navigate various rope and climbing challenges together as a herd🐐.
Check out the photos from last week, where our groups warmed up to the theme with some teamwork and obstacle course activities.

Check out the fun we had on our recent Active Holidays programme! We had a bunch of new students join us, who were great to meet and share some awesome adventures with. Despite some very excited students and staff, the weather had different plans for our scheduled ski days.

This term has been a great success for our Leadership programme! We have immersed ourselves in a whole range of bush activities, such as compass, map and navigation. As well as their volunteer hours our leadership crew have been running weather sessions, body warm ups and assisting instructors and students while fine tuning their leadership skills! We finished off our term with a fun day out at Adrenaline forest! Very proud of the team, we can’t wait for what lies ahead!

🔥😎 Things got hot and smokey last week, with groups doing fire lighting as their last activity for bush term. Using materials collected across the term, students practiced building their own fire, lighting them, and then enjoying damper cooked over the fires they created (with chocolate chips added of course).

Time to show off our group’s hard mahi from last week, building natural shelters that followed on from the skills they learned the previous week while creating mini shelters. Once their shelters were completed, they were treated to hot chocolates in the forest, which was especially nice on the frostier days.
