Our art work is going to be on display - come along and view TOMORROW Thursday 6th August for the official opening at 5:30 pm - Kaiapoi Library. Here at Ōuruhia the seniors have been looking at Parabolic Curves and Coordinates. Thanks Tomo from VIP Trade for supporting with the wood/nails for our designs. The juniors - this will be a surprise for us all. I can't wait to see the displays.

Te Kāhui ako Kātoe Maths Art Exhibition - In this exhibition, students from schools across our Kāhui ako Kātote (community), have transformed mathematical concepts into stunning visual expressions.

This vibrant exhibition showcases creative works from schools across our Kāhui ako Kātote (community), where students have transformed mathematical concepts into stunning visual expressions. From geometry to symmetry, explore how numbers, patterns, and imagination come together to reveal the artistic side of maths.

Te Kāhui ako Kātote maths art exhibition is a collaboration of artwork collected from nine schools in the kāhui kura, featuring: Te Kura o Tuahiwi, Kaiapoi North, Kaiapoi Borough, Woodend, St.Patricks, Clarkville, Ōuruhia, Te Kura o Manga Kawari -Pegasus Bay, Amberley School, and Kaiapoi High School.

Join us in celebrating the work by students at the Te Kāhui ako Kātote Maths Art Exhibition launch, at the Kaiapoi Library, on Thursday 6 August from 5:30pm.

The exhibition will run for a month in the children’s area of the Kaiapoi Library and be available for friends and whānau to enjoy until Thursday 3 September.

Children’s Book Week

Aotearoa New Zealand's first Children's Book Week is happening this month! 📚

Run by Read NZ Te Pou Muramura, New Zealand Children's Book Week (15-21 August) encourages parents, teachers, caregivers and whānau to make reading a priority for the children in their lives.

This year's theme is Reading Around Aotearoa.

WAYS YOU CAN GET INVOLVED:
✔️ Whānau: Take part in an online or in-person event. For example, Books on Board, on the Wellington Kāpiti train line with live storytelling for pre-schoolers, or the Waiheke Children's Book Festival.

✔️ Schools: There are Digital Writers in Schools sessions happening online, or you may like to run a Book Parade Day or other event.

✔️ Students (Years 5-13): Write about how a book impacted your life and you might get your story published, and $250 in new books for you and $500 in new books for your school.
