Over the past few months, we've been making improvements to our lower playground, and today, with the help of our tamariki, we gave it our very own "unofficial" grand opening! โค๐โฝ๏ธ
After a thorough inspection by our expert playground testers (the children!), we're pleased to report that the new area has been approved. ๐๐ฅ
Its fantastic to see the tamariki having so much fun with their friends and making the most of the new space. ๐๐๐

Today the Caterpillar tamariki were lucky to have Catherine from Parklands United sports club come and do football with them. โฝ
We played a few games practicing stopping with the ball and shooting goals. ๐ฅ
It was also pretty cool to get some ribbons and stickers to take home too for our participation. ๐ฅโค๐
Thanks for visiting Catherine. ๐

The children and teachers are enjoying the great May weather. ๐คGetting outdoors to run around or explore, has been great for us all! ๐โโ๏ธ
It is nice to observe the children having fun dinning in the sandpit, ball play, crawling in the tunnel and loads more activities. โฝ Allowing us all to get some fresh air outside on a daily basis and burn off infant and toddler energy is a bonus for everyone! โค ๐

Today the Caterpillar tamariki had a great trip to the school of gymnastics. ๐คธโโ๏ธ๐คธโโ๏ธ
We headed off on the bus, once we arrived we got to try out lots of different equipment; balancing, jumping and swinging our way round. ๐๏ธโโ๏ธ๐
The highlight was the bus ride and the big foam pit. ๐
Thanks to all our parent helpers who made this happen we appreciate you all. ๐โค๐

Minerva House is proudly a Montessori centre, this term the Nursery have been focusing on revisiting and exploring new ways to implement areas of this philosophy into our curriculum and daily lives. ๐
Over the week we have enjoyed lots of tipping and pouring, folding washing, practising phonics at circle time and more. ๐ฆ๐
We have enjoyed helping our Kaiako do the real life washing and washing 'dirty' dishes. ๐ฝ
Our most enjoyable task has definitely been caring for our environment through sweeping and watering the garden. ๐โค

The Caterpillar tamariki had a fun morning upstairs with Tim who came in and shared his rugby skills with the tamariki. ๐๐
A big thank you to Tim for taking the time to come in and provide this fun experience for our tamariki, we know they had a blast from the laughter and smiles on their faces. ๐๐๐

Last Friday the Nursery tamariki and Kaiako went for a little walk down to the park at the Rutland Reserve. ๐ถ
We had so much fun playing on the playground, having a little picnic and watching all of the doggies walk past. ๐
We even managed to spot both a boat and a digger, which I think was the boy's favourite part! ๐ฅ ๐
What a fun morning it was, we will definitely try to do this again in the future :) ๐โค ๐

Today the Nursery were kept busy by exploring our taste buds through a fun taste testing activity. ๐ถ๐
The tamariki had a chance to try a variety of flavour's, from salt and tomato sauce to maple syrup jam, and our personal favourite, lemon! ๐
They really enjoyed discovering the different tastes and were keen to go back for seconds!
As you can imagine, the facial expressions were priceless, especially when the lemon made its appearance.
Just look at some of those funny faces! ๐ฎ It was such a fun, sensory-filled experience for everyone involved! ๐โค ๐

Over the last couple of days, the caterpillar tamariki have been in full swing creating lots of Easter crafts, and we hoped you've enjoyed these coming home! ๐จ๐
Today we had an egg hunt around the classroom, hunting the room and spotting the eggs, hidden up high, down low and all around.
There was lots of laughter and a wee bit of competition on how fast the eggs were found and great spotting skills on display! โค๐
