We love celebrating this fantastic Saint.
St. Patrick of Ireland is one of the world's most popular saints. He was born in Roman Britain and when he was fourteen or so, he was captured by Irish pirates during a raiding party and taken to Ireland as a slave to herd and tend sheep. At the time, Patrick turned to God and wrote his memoir, The Confession. In The Confession, he wrote:
"The love of God and his fear grew in me more and more, as did the faith, and my soul was rosed, so that, in a single day, I have said as many as a hundred prayers and in the night, nearly the same. I prayed in the woods and on the mountain, even before dawn. I felt no hurt from the snow or ice or rain."
Patrick preached and converted all of Ireland for 40 years. He worked many miracles and wrote of his love for God in Confessions. He often used shamrocks to explain the Holy Trinity and entire kingdoms were eventually converted to Christianity after hearing Patrick's message.

What just happened?! Congratulations to Lucius! This morning he ran the City2Surf 12km in 58:09.
Lucius worked away meticulously towards his sports badge in 2024, logging every run (and time) for multiple terms. The training has paid off and we all hope Lucius is home relaxing now! Well done to Lucius’ fantastic role model of a dad as well- it’s so much more fun when you have someone supporting you along the way.

Design Technology today: How wonderful to wander into a classroom and find these children fine-tuning how to design a throwing machine for their basketball hoop. This involved: planning for practice, development of ideas, and writing up the outcome and evaluation.

Whakamihi George! George competed in the NZ Optimist Association South Island Champs and came third overall! He sailed in the open fleet, which can be sailed by anyone aged 15 and under.
This regatta was held over 2 days with 6 races, each taking around 45mins. There was a wide range of wind conditions over the weekend from 5 knots (9 km/hr) to 25 knots (43km/hr) - it made for some exciting sailing.
It's wonderful to hear about your success, George!

Super excited for our upcoming Twilight Market. Please consider purchasing a 'picnic rug' space and clear out the garage - one man's trash is another man's treasure! So far we have stalls selling bric-a-brac, eggs, firewood, plants, skincare, clothes, toys, garlic, shallots and black garlic. We welcome more of the same, or some entirely different and new ideas! We might even have hair braiding in school colours... so exciting.
Press on the link in the comments to book yourself a 'picnic rug' spot. $30 for the space, and then keep your own profits and enjoy the selling. It's a great opportunity to teach your children about money!
We welcome rug sales from friends, family, and parish of St Peter's. Please refrain from sharing this on community pages though.

We hope that Shrove Tuesday went well for all of our families and that you enjoyed pancakes. We sure did at school! Thank you to all the families who made pancakes for us - it was so much fun.
Shrove Tuesday is a Christian festival celebrated in many countries across the globe. It falls on the Tuesday before the beginning of Lent – a period of around six weeks leading up to Easter. During Lent, Christians give up luxuries to remember when Jesus went into the desert for 40 days to fast and pray.
From Catholicculture.org - As we prepare to begin Lent, perhaps after a hearty dinner of pancakes on Shrove Tuesday, may we take time for extra prayer, particularly the Stations of the Cross, and various penances to overcome our weaknesses and to atone for our sins.

Introducing our 2025 Library Monitors - Abi and Liam! These two have excellent skill sets to support our library being the best it can possibly be. It is one of the most busy and popular places on our school site so we wish these two the very best of luck.

It's always fantastic hearing about children's success.
Don't forget you can email [email protected] if your child is achieving outside of the classroom! We are happy to celebrate this on Facebook, in the classroom, or with a quiet word from teacher to student. Affirmation is so important.
Today we would like to say a massive congratulations to Ani! Having worked consistently through Term 3 and 4 at Levings School of Dance, she travelled to the Gold Coast in January and performed in Showcase. With her troupe, she placed 4th in Jazz, 2nd in Lyrical (performed at Battle of the Stars) and an incredible 1st in Musical Theatre.
