They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

🏕️ Year 7&8 are a privilege to spend time with. What a magic combination to have beautiful warm weather, a great venue, fun loving parent helpers (they are also a bit hilarious with slide usage) and extremely supportive staff. Have an amazing year 7&8 camp! 🏕️

We couldn’t be more stoked to have the NZ Ford Football Ferns on-site training our girls today. It was such an amazing opportunity, with our Year 1s going as hard as our Year 8s!

Cashmere Technical Football Club you guys have been so fantastic in facilitating opportunities for us and thank you Ford Football Ferns for your amazing football session and generosity in signing.

Congratulations to Cullen, Quinn, Leo and Lucius for their amazing running in the recent City2Surf. We've heard a rumour that a couple of these children managed the 6.2k in 33 minutes!

One of the highlights of any teacher or school leader's job is connecting with children (and their parents) in areas of passion and joy. It's been amazing seeing these children get fitter and fitter over 2022, 2023 and 2024, and it's great to see younger children joining in when they hit year five as well.

Thanks for the ongoing support of all our extra clubs and co-curricular activities. It's something that makes St Peter's really special.

We remember Jesus.
We remember his love for God and for all people.
We remember his death and resurrection.
We remember that we belong to Jesus, now and always.

Thank you to all our students and their whānau for joining us as we depicted the Stations of the Cross around school and the Beckenham block today.

En un miercoles por la tarde, aqui te dejamos un video de nuestro apredizaje en español. Enjoy watching the learning.

Wishing Father Peter all the very best as his fresh beginning starts in the morning. Thank you for all you’ve brought to our kura over the past six years.

We had a meaningful send off on Friday. Thank you to every student for contributing to our special book for Father Peter, and for our board’s contribution. God bless!

Learning Matters Ltd thank you very much for this evening.

Darnelle spoke to our whanau about the process of learning to spell and read. We also got the chance to test out the process of learning the ‘iDeal’ way.

Mrs Gill is leading St Peter’s on this journey in-house, with guidance and professional learning through Learning Matters. Thanks team!

Wow! It's fantastic looking out to see rugby training happening with our superstar Sydenham Rugby Club trainers. Mrs Mitchell has been leading, enjoying and supporting this Tākarokaro programme all morning! We love it so much that we might even extend it out by a term.

We are committed to sharing your child's learning journey with you. Thank you to all the parents who have commented on Seesaw posts - we see such delight from children when this happens. One example this week was with a fantastic new year 3 family - what a pleasure to see your child's happiness unfold as she read mum's post and decided to write back! Great humour.

Below is a short video of our Year 7 and 8's artwork so far this term. Structured and yet unique - we want to celebrate this as a work in progress and also can't wait to see them as finished pieces.

An amazing bunch of children, with an amazing support crew of parents! Congratulations to everyone who took part in the Weetbix Tryalthlon today- you all did yourselves proud.

We did our best to capture you on the run but some of you were just a little too speedy for us! If any parents caught snaps of the swimming or biking, please share below.

Well done! Memory making day-by-day.

We are so lucky to be well looked after by the police force in Aotearoa! Our local school constable (Constable Zarah) has been amazing over this past week. Playing and talking with our children goes such a long way to help us all feel safe and connected.

Learning that our police are here to support us in a very holistic sense is important - thanks Constable Zarah.

Shrove Tuesday is a Christian festival, which falls on the Tuesday before the beginning of Lent. During Lent, we give something up to remember when Jesus went into the desert for 40 days to fast and pray. At St Peter's, we also make a Lenten Promise (a commitment to do something positive over the time period).

Shrove Tuesday has another name… Pancake Day! Traditionally during Lent, Catholics give up rich, tasty foods such as butter, eggs, sugar and fat. Shrove Tuesday is the last chance to eat them!

Yesterday we had such a blast with our pancake races. It was so much fun and we want to say a huge thank you to the P.T.A. for organising all the pancakes to be made, the bakers, the parent helpers and our teachers - we all really enjoyed this event.

As we head into Ash Wednesday today, may we ask that our Gracious God supports us all in beginning a period of inner reflection through Lent.

Thank you to our full school community. Being together this evening was fantastic! We hope you learned some valuable information in our Parent Sessions, that your whanau had as much fun as we did, and that you really enjoyed your picnic or FUSH!

St Peter’s School : Te Kura Haoika - 2024 is feeling great 👍.

Thank you to the PTA for helping explain what you do in our meetings this evening, and to all those who have joined as class friends.

It’s wonderful to stand on our Astro this evening and reflect on the effort put in by the board, PTA and staff.

Welcome to 2024! It's a privilege to support your children through their education journey this year. Today we welcomed 12 new children into St Peter's School Te Kura Haoika. Thank you to everyone who supported our Mihi Whakatau - so great to hear Kapa Haka singing out so strongly on day one.

We look forward to seeing everyone at our Parent Meetings and School picnic on Wednesday. We know our school is strengthened by our connection and community. Waiho i te toi poto, kaua i te toiroa!!

Today our Year 1, 2 and 3 put on their annual Advent Celebration Service. What a joyous, enthusiastic and heart-felt 40 minutes!

Thanks to all the parents, grandparents and extended whānau and friends who supported the children today - they've looked forward to this for quite some time. The sneaky little waves out at the audience were a pleasure to watch.

"It is the beautiful task of Advent to awaken in all of us memories of goodness and thus to open doors of hope."

~ Pope Benedict XVI

Adventure Park 2023! What a fantastic way to end Running Club for the year. We had so many parents supporting our crew and excellent kai after the chairlift down. It was a great chance to enjoy our beautiful country and connect with each other. Congratulations everyone - this was a big effort and you all conquered it well.

Absolutely brimming with pride. Bringing Christmas joy to the city through the fantastic CSO outreach programme. Enjoy reading and listening to the journey below.

We got to go and listen to our teacher, Karl, playing in Beethoven's 5th earlier this term as well - nothing like hearing the best to keep us inspired.

Thank you to the fantastic C.S.O. Outreach Team. It was so exciting to be part of the C.S.O. Music Trails yesterday. The Brass Ensemble played to over 100 people, and we were grateful for the opportunity and proud of how we played!

Congratulations to our 2023 brass players - huge growth and so much fun learning together. Bring on 2024!
