As we gather to start our last morning at Rangi Ruru we thank you all for your support, your care and your amazing children who have made our preschool so special. Merry Christmas to you all.

✨ Honoring Our Legacy ✨

Our beautiful korowai is more than a garment — it’s a taonga that celebrates the achievements of our tamariki and their rite of passage to further education. Created by past tamariki, it is a gift from one child to another, now preserved as a symbol of who we were and the place we held at Rangi Ruru Preschool.

Mā te huruhuru, ka rere te manu
Adorn the bird with feathers so it may fly.

Thanks to everyone who came out to our Christmas party today and helped to make this last Rangi Ruru Preschool celebration extra special. We are blessed to have had you all in our preschool community and we will miss you all.

A reminder that this is a short week. Preschool will be closed on Friday for Canterbury Anniversary Day/ Show Day. Enjoy your long weekend.

You are all warmly invited to join us for our family picnic Wednesday 5th November from 4:45. Bring your favourite takeaways or home made picnic and enjoy catching up with other families and friends.

Dress Up Day. Please come in costume to preschool on Friday 31st of October. Princesses , super heros, pirates etc (and If you wish to dress for Halloween please ensure the costume is not too scary for our younger children).

As part of our continuing investigation into minibeasts Keri was able to dress as a bee keeper at circle time. The children got a close up look at the suit, the gloves and the honeycomb from a real beehive. We saw the smoker and learnt about what it is for. Thanks so much to the Cattell family for bringing in these amazing resources to allow us to explore this ongoing interest in a meaningful way.
