⚽ WHAT A GOAL! ❤️🖤

Old Boy Nick Murphy (2019–2023) produced a moment to remember at One New Zealand Stadium on Saturday, scoring an stunning goal from the back for Cashmere Technical Football Club in the Chatham Cup final.

And what a stage to do it on, in front of a crowd of 11,000 people!

A brilliant moment for Nick and one we’re sure he won’t forget in a hurry.

Father’s Day is a good reminder that so much of our St Bede’s community is built through generations. For some families, the connection stretches from grandfathers, to fathers, to sons. Pictured here are three generations of the Hubble family: Simon (1963–66), Chris (1989–93), now a teacher at St Bede's, and current student Harry.

To all the dads, grandads and father figures in our community, thank you for the part you play in shaping the next generation.

🏆 2026 SPORTS AWARD : TANNER STOWERS-SMITH

We are delighted to announce Tanner Stowers-Smith (2019-2022) as the recipient of the 2026 St Bede’s College Old Boys’ Association Sports Award.

Since leaving St Bede’s, Tanner has continued to make his mark in rugby league, with his talent, determination and hard work seeing him successfully progress through the ranks of the New Zealand Warriors.

His achievements on and off the field are a great source of pride for the St Bede’s community, and we are very proud to recognise Tanner’s sporting success with this year’s Sports Award.

We are delighted to announce George McLeod (2003-2007) as the recipient of the 2026 St Bede’s College Old Boys’ Association Cultural Award.

George has forged an impressive career as a chef, with his journey taking him from Christchurch kitchens to the international culinary stage and, most recently, to Portugal, where he is co-founder of acclaimed restaurant SEM.

His creativity, passion and commitment to his craft have seen him build an outstanding reputation in the culinary world, and we are incredibly proud to recognise his achievements with this year’s Cultural Award.
