Christchurch Girls' High School / Te Kura o Hine Waiora, a boarding and day school, is the largest girls’ secondary school in Christchurch.

Christchurch Girls' High School / Te Kura o Hine Waiora is the second oldest single s*x girls' school in the country with a current roll of approximately 1200 students, 108 of whom board. We are a school for girls from Year 9 to Year 13 and guide and encourage each young woman to be all she is capable of becoming.

The annual Christchurch Girls’ High School I Te Kura o Hine Waiora, Open Day, will take place on Tuesday 21 May 2024.
2024 Year 8 students and their whānau are invited to book a time to attend the Principal’s Address followed by a tour of the school, guided by our students.

The Principal’s Address will take place at the following times:
9am,10am, 11am, 12 noon

Show Jumping / Show Hunter Champions!!!
Congratulations to our students who competed today at the Canterbury Interschools Show Jumping Competition.
30 teams from around Canterbury attended a glorious day, and Christchurch Girls' High School/Te Kura o Hine Waiora came out with 1st (Navy Team) and 5th (Red Team).
Such a brilliant result and they worked so hard!
We also took out 1st place for our Show Hunter team.

Thanks so much to Christchurch Girls' High School / Te Kura o Hine Waiora for their amazing efforts fundraising for Cholmondeley.

The school held a non-uniform day to raise the money which they presented to our kaimahi with an enormous cheque, along with a gorgeous Easter basket for our tamariki.

Congrats to our Equestrian teams today for their performances at the Secondary Schools Dressage competition.

Our CGHS red team came 2nd overall,
CGHS white got 7th, and CGHS blue got 8th 🐴
