Kapowai Studio

Hi everyone,
just a quick update for those who expressed interest in the open studio exhibition UNKNOWN TERRITORIES.
As the theme I have been working on symbolizes PEACE and UNITY, I had intended this weekend 14th, 15th and 16th March to collaborate with the local UNITY week.

However ,with the ongoing physical challenges happening around the studio, we have now decided to postpone the open studio to a later date in April (with a preview online.)

Finally home after an inspiring family orientated and creative net working time meeting so many inspiring entrepreneurial people in Zanzibar and even on the way there and back!

It always amazes me how much can happen in a short time…

I found it so valuable to live entirely in the moment, absorbing life in a real and authentic way.
While also getting perspective on what really matters and focusing on how this reflects my work as an artist.

Now its time to return to the studio and share more with you all, as everything I have gathered on my travels, unfolds.

Just letting everyone know I am visiting family in Zanzibar while gathering artistic inspiration and getting perspective on life!

Returning on the 16th Feb to prepare for an open studio exhibition, so looking forward to sharing more with you all while I am still here…

For Ben”s special day, we took the ferry to Diamond Harbour and what an exciting day we had!

With this colourful peace wreath which Ben and I have lovingly created with olive branches, pipe cleaner flowers and paper hearts, we wish everyone joy and peace this festive season and may the coming year bring more love, peace and compassion for the whole world.

From a game we played, Astrid ( 7 yrs) created a lovely composition with three very different themes!

I asked each student this week what they have loved most about Kapowai Studio.
Their response warmed my heart…

“The cup of tea and painting hearts! “

“The pastels which smudge and peeling paint off the palette!”

“Everything!” ( most of them said )
