Little Minerva Preschool

There’s always a perk to being the first one at preschool! 🌟 Bryn was lucky enough to have some special one-on-one time with Kaiako Joanna and Molly, making some yummy bread together. 🍞

As part of our “This Is Me” focus, we are exploring ways we can care for ourselves and keep our bodies healthy. Making and enjoying our own food provides opportunities for tamariki to learn about healthy choices, where our food comes from and the importance of nourishing our bodies.

Tamariki have enjoyed using the new activities set out for them ♥️

🚧 There's been plenty happening at Little Minerva Preschool over the last few weeks... and today was a big milestone!
Our new car park has officially been asphalted and we couldn't be happier with how it's looking!

We're looking forward to opening it up and driving on it later next week. 🚗

What a wonderful day our tamariki had on their excursion to Willowbank this morning and afternoon with Kaiako Rach, Simoane, and Molly! 🌿🦆🐑

Building on our Matariki learning, we explored the natural world as tamariki discovered more about animals, their life cycles and habitats. We also made connections to our learning about plants and how all living things are connected, bringing our learning to life through meaningful, hands-on experiences. 🌱

A huge thank you to our wonderful whānau for allowing your tamariki to be part of this special day! 💚🦉

Our tamariki made the most of the beautiful sunshine this week! ☀️ They challenged themselves on the Geo Gym and climbing equipment, building their confidence, strength and coordination, before enjoying a lovely tea party together.

We also had lots of fun making delicious smoothies for morning tea! As we prepared the ingredients, the tamariki practised their pouring and mixing skills while learning about the nutritious foods that fuel our bodies.🍓🥭🥤

Following on from our planting experience with our student Helen, our tamariki had the opportunity to plant broad beans in our garden this week with kaiako Joanna.
Tamariki are learning about caring for our environment, sustainability and the journey from garden to table.

Woohoo we have butter !!!!
