There’s something powerful about seeing an idea become something tangible — something that can reach people, shift perspectives, and open new possibilities.
“Dummy”, by Ron Davis, is one of those works.
At its heart, this book speaks to a deeply human experience: what it feels like to be misunderstood, to be seen as “less than,” simply because you think and learn differently.
But more importantly, it offers a different narrative.
One that recognises the intelligence, creativity, and potential that often sit beneath the surface — waiting to be understood in the right way.
This is why the work we do as Davis practitioners matters.
Not to “fix” people, but to create the conditions where they can truly understand themselves and engage with the world more confidently in the way they choose.

This week is World Autism Acceptance Week.
Not awareness. Acceptance.
The difference matters more than it might seem. Awareness says: autism exists. Acceptance says: autistic people belong, in classrooms, workplaces, families, and communities, exactly as they are.
For over 30 years, the Davis Method has worked from that position. Not "fixing". Not managing. Building understanding from the inside out.
This week we'll be sharing what that looks like in practice, for autistic individuals, for the people who support them, and for the professionals who work alongside them.
Follow along. And if you know someone who needs to hear this, share it with them.

Thank you 💜🩵🤍
To close Neurodiversity Celebration Week, we want to say thank you.
Thank you, Ron Davis.
As a child, Ron didn't speak. Doctors told his mother he would never learn, never amount to much. He spent decades in a world that had no framework for his brain, so he built his own.
He became an engineer. A sculptor. And at 38, he taught himself to read, by understanding how his own mind worked.
That discovery became the Davis Method.
But a method is only as powerful as the people who carry it forward.
So thank you to every Davis Facilitator around the world, the people who show up every day for neurodivergent learners and their families. Who sit alongside someone who has spent years being told they're not enough, and help them see themselves differently. Who do this work with love, skill, and genuine belief in the people they support and the programs we deliver. You are the reason this method reaches the people who need it.
To every parent who found hope through Davis. To every adult who finally understood their own mind. To every facilitator who made that possible.
It started with one man who refused to accept the world's definition of him, and it continues because of all of you.
Thank you 💜🩵

This week we've talked about dyslexia, ADHD, autism, and dyscalculia.
What they have in common: millions of people with these neurotypes have spent years in systems built around fixing what's "wrong" with them — rather than working with how their brains actually operate.
That's not a small distinction. It's the difference between a child who grows up believing they're broken, and one who grows up with the tools to participate fully in the life they choose.
This Neurodiversity Celebration Week, we've been asking a bigger question: what does it actually look like to move from awareness to action?
We wrote about it. We'd love for you to read it.
