Last night, Mr. Mike Vannoort and Mrs. Colleen Steyn celebrated the Middleton Grange School 60th Anniversary in Tokyo, Japan with a wonderful group of people - MGS alumni students and parents, current parents, principals and teachers of partner schools, future students and parents, and the New Zealand ambassador to Japan, Hamish Cooper, with his wife Misa Kitaoka from Education New Zealand.

Mrs. Colleen Steyn welcomed everyone and thanked them for coming to the celebration. She opened the evening by saying grace, and then appetisers were served. Mr. Mike Vannoort shared a presentation with everyone about the history of Middleton Grange School and the International College. He also thanked the Japan schools for their partnership, support, and friendship over the years.

What a wonderful celebration!

Mr. Vannoort and Takashi Oyama reunited in Tokyo this week after 26 years. Takashi graduated from MGS in 1998 and was in the 1st XI Boys' Football team, coached by Mr. Vannoort.

Have you ever felt nervous or anxious before a test? Maybe your mind went blank, or you struggled to get the words down on paper, even though you knew the answers. Or perhaps the words on the page didn’t make sense until someone read them aloud?

If so, then you know exactly how valuable a little extra help can be. We have many students who need support with reading and writing during exams from Thursday, 19th September to Wednesday, 26th September—both in the mornings and afternoons.

If you think you could help make a difference, please get in touch with us at: [email protected]

Thank you so much for your kindness and support!

Congratulations Will! What a fantastic achievement!! 🥈

A quote from Will’s alumni profile - “Take hold of opportunities as they present themselves - you never know where they may take you. Remembering what is important and relying on God in everything you do is crucial.”

A Silver! A National Record! And a PB for the flying Will Stedman in Paris! 🇳🇿🤯

A brilliant run from Will to win himself a Paralympic silver medal less than 20 hours after his agonising 4th place in the Long Jump T36 final!

We’re so proud of you Will, incredible 🥈
