Winter isn't the off-season... it's the power season. 💪❄️

Hey Crew, Coach Anna here - now... a lot of people see Winter as a time to simply "get through" their training, but I actually love Winter strength training. It's the perfect time of year to channel a bit more energy into building strength, addressing imbalances, improving movement quality, and making some real gains before the busy spring and summer adventures roll around.

My own training right now is pretty simple:
✔️ 4 strength sessions per week (2 upper body, 2 lower body)
✔️ 2 cardio sessions per week to maintain fitness – one shorter session and one longer session

Why this split?

Strength takes consistency and recovery. By training upper and lower body separately, I can give each session quality effort without feeling completely smashed. It also allows enough training volume to build strength and muscle while still having energy for life, work, and my 2 small humans!

The two cardio sessions are there to keep my aerobic fitness ticking along without competing with my strength goals. Aerobic fitness is much easier to maintain than it is to build, so winter is a great opportunity to shift the focus slightly and come out stronger when the weather warms up.

💪Strong legs make climbing easier.
💪Strong glutes make running and riding more efficient.
💪Strong upper body muscles help with posture, stability, carrying packs, bike handling, and reducing injury risk.

The best part? When everyone else is waiting for motivation to return in spring, you'll already have a stronger engine, a more resilient body, and a solid foundation ready to go.

So embrace the frosty mornings, lift some heavy things, and remember... Summer strength is built in Winter. 😉

We are always here to chat training team, get in touch anytime and let's get our strength on! 👊

Recent reviews:
"This is perfect for me as I don't like having to drive to exercise and can do all of this from home which saves me time and motivates me to do the exercise. Anna creates a detailed, professional plan with instructional videos which meets your needs and goals and the Training Tilt App is excellent. I am one of those people who like ticking off goals and following the plan so it works for me. Thanks" - T

"I signed up with Coach Anna for a 14 week training plan for an adventure race. My aim was to build my fitness and stamina in a way that enabled me to stay injury free. My plan was full but doable and I could feel the results as the weeks went by. Completing each session on the training tilt app was very motivating and I made it to race day feeling strong and ready!" - J

"I loved having a set plan for training! It took away decision making and saved brain power in my already busy life!" - B

Winter training isn’t always glamorous.

Some days you’re tired.
Some days motivation is nowhere to be found.
Some days the couch sounds way more appealing than training...

But those are often the sessions that matter the most.

Strength isn’t built from the workouts you feel like doing.
It’s built from the moments you choose to show up anyway 👊

Every session adds up.
Every small effort counts.
And the consistency you build through winter is what sets you up for stronger adventures, races, rides and runs later in the year.

Keep showing up crew💥
