The year 5/6 basketball team are adjusting well to the new rules this season and are playing like a team. A good 29-6 win against Prebbleton. Great work team.

So good to have a bit of a break in the weather to get the children out for sports. A great mix of Ultimate Frisbee, Dodgeball, Olympic Handball and Korfball. Some excellent skill development and a bit of competitive spirit makes for a good session.

What an awesome start to the Basketball season. Our Yr 5/6 team won all 3 grading games on Thursday night and had a fantastic number of supporters down at Pioneer cheering them on.

Our Yr 7/8 Boys teams both started the season well with the Celtics having a great 39-22 win over Medbury, and the Heat, with a number of players first ever game, managing a 10-10 draw with Oaklands.

We are delighted to have a Yr 7/8 Girls Team this year. With only 3 players with previous game experience the girls played out a very exciting 20-20 Draw against St Martins and looked amazing in their new uniforms.

Anzac Day 23/04/2024

Tomorrow we commemorate ANZAC Day. Please take time to keep all who fought for our country and especially those who lost their lives defending it in our prayers.

E kore rātou e kaumātuatia
Pēnei i a tātou kua mahue nei
E kore hoki rātou e ngoikore
Ahakoa pēhea i ngā āhuatanga o te wā
I te hekenga atu o te rā
Tae noa ki te aranga mai i te ata
Ka maumahara tonu tātou ki a rātou
Ka maumahara tonu tātou ki a rātou.
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.
We will remember them.

Anzac Day The Anzac spirit has taught Kiwis many things; endurance, courage, ingenuity, good humour and mateship. In unprecedented times like these, we look to these qualities to unite us all.

We keep everyone affected by this horrific event in our prayers.

Today marks the 5-years since the tragic Christchurch Mosque shootings. We take a moment to reflect on the lives lost, the survivors, and the community affected by this senseless act of violence. Our hearts continue to ache for all those impacted by this tragedy.

Let us pray:

Loving God,
We come before you today with heavy hearts, remembering the lives lost in the Christchurch mosque shootings. We lift up their families and friends, asking for your comfort and healing presence to surround them.

We pray for the survivors, that you may grant them strength and resilience as they continue their journey of healing. May they find solace in your embrace and be filled with hope for the future.

We also ask for your grace upon the community affected by this tragedy. May they find unity, understanding, and peace amidst the pain and grief. Help us all to stand together against hatred and violence, promoting love and compassion in our world.

Amen

Wasn’t a win tonight but our team gave it their best effort. A few first timers playing and a lot of learning involved. Thank you to the parents and friends for the support.

It was great to see so many gather at Church Square to walk, scoot, cycle to school. Some fun in the courts at lunchtime and a few prizes given out. Big thank you to everyone that supported today.
