All home from Year 5/6 Camp safe and sound. An awesome experience for all. A massive thank you to our incredible parent helpers, Dom, Kris, Shanna and Fiona. Couldn’t do it without you.

A big big thank you to our teachers Liz, Annabel and Shayna for all the preparation, the planning and giving up your own time for our kids.

Some early nights tonight and plenty of washing to be done.

Year 7/8 next week.

Plenty of Scientists in school today. The place is buzzing with enthusiasm and scientific talk and some great experiments. Great way to launch our latest topic of work.

Fourteen years ago today, we lost a wonderful mother of twin girls from our school in the city’s tragic earthquake. Ivy was a shining light around our school and will always be fondly remembered by those who knew her.

Kia ora Team

We are all looking forward to welcoming all the children back on Monday. The school is a pretty empty place without them.

Just a few reminders. Children will need to be wearing their sun hats for outside play, please ensure they have it packed. Please send them along with all their stationery so we can make sure they have the right gear from the start.

Next week there is a Public Holiday on Thursday to celebrate Waitangi Day. We will be closed that day. We will be open on Friday the 7th of February.

See you all on Monday.

Regards
Frank and the Team

What a magical couple of days. The picnic last night was a wonderful evening of entertainment and how good was that band?
Today we are enjoying a fun water day. Plenty of water and plenty of smiles. Biggest kid is on the hose!

Unfortunately our Kapa Haka Festival has been cancelled tonight due to weather. The group performed their routine to the school this afternoon. We are delighted to share this with you here. Hopefully we can share this with you live sometime. Big thank you to Mrs Thomson for all your hard work.

Canterbury’s #1 Supporter — Canterbury Rugby 07/11/2024

Many of our older children and all of our past students over the last 8 years will know Graham. He bikes to Sacred Heart from Redwood every Thursday to help us out with sport.

This is a lovely tribute to the passion Graham shows to his beloved Canterbury rugby team.

Canterbury’s #1 Supporter — Canterbury Rugby “Three buses stopped and none of them were going to Rangiora” said loyal supporter Graham Paterson. The next best option being a TV screening at his sister’s in Burnside, Graham thought stuff it, not wanting his day to be defined by the Christchurch Metro Bus service, he ran home and jumped on...

And Yes! The lunchtime DISCO was a highlight of the week for teachers and students. They could have danced all afternoon.

And that’s Book Week for another year.

The highlight of book week has to be book character dress up day. The staff and students have not disappointed. They look so good.

Great to have parents in reading with their children.

Looking forward to the lunchtime DISCO!! 🕺

The first 2 days of Book Week have been great. Lots of laughs and smiles at the Teddy Bears Picnic today while enjoying a hot chocolate and a few books with a few bears.

Great work Miss Williams and Mrs Norman-Larter.
