E whakapono ana mātau ki te mana, ki te miharo o te tamaiti – we believe in the power and wonder of the child.

Our tamariki are constantly engaging in play that excites them whilst developing their physical motor skills...and we love being witness to the magic and creativity involved. 💜

Poipoia te kākano kia puāwai.
Nurture the seed and it will blossom.

Our kaiako are such amazing and dedicated teachers that work with the tamariki through their interests to support them in achieving all they strive too do.
We are so proud of our teaching team here at Pūmanawa Bishopdale ELC.

Ko te kairapu. Ko ia te kite.
He who seeks will find.

Our tamariki love messy play here at Pūmanawa Bishopdale ELC.
Its an amazing time for tamariki to explore many textures, processes and ideas through open ended play that is fun and filled with learning.
This is what a magical childhood is all about.

Moving, learning, thriving!

A set of rings… a moment of curiosity. Then movement, confidence and laughter follow.

At Pūmanawa Bishopdale, our community-based early learning centre, these everyday moments are where the magic happens.

Through our unique Elevate Minis programme, children are supported to explore their bodies, build confidence, and discover just how capable they are.

One day it’s gymnastics in the stadium, the next it’s running free at Elephant Park, slowing things down with yoga or enjoying music and movement together. Because we’re based right inside the Bishopdale Recreation Centre, these experiences are part of everyday learning - not something extra.

As part of The Kind Foundation, we believe every child should feel a deep sense of belonging - supported, encouraged and proud of what they can do ❤️

Come and see it for yourself — we’d love to welcome you into our community.

Nāu te rourou, nāku te rourou, ka ora ai te iwi.
With your basket and my basket, the people will thrive.

Our tamariki have been having so much fun during our weekly P.E sessions! Through a range of engaging games and activities, the children are developing important physical skills such as ball control, throwing and catching, balance, coordination, teamwork, and body awareness.

We love being able to provide opportunities for active movement and physical learning as part of our preschool programme, helping tamariki grow strong in both body and mind.

The other day our Owl Time tamariki (Transition to School group) went on a great adventure to Isleworth School!

The tamariki thoroughly enjoyed taking part in free play alongside the school children, connecting with the kaiako there, and exploring the playground and classroom environment. It was lovely to see their confidence, curiosity, and excitement as they experienced a small glimpse into school life.

We truly value the strong relationship we are building with our local school community and feel it is such a meaningful opportunity for our older tamariki. These regular visits help support a positive and familiar transition to school, allowing children to develop confidence and a sense of belonging before they begin their next learning journey. Thank you for having us Te Kura o Te Mātāpuna - Isleworth School

Ko te whakaiti te huarahi ki te pai.
Humility is the pathway to goodness.

A beautiful moment captured, a smiling pēpi sharing pure joy and warmth. These early expressions of connection and happiness are precious as tamariki begin to engage with the world around them, building relationships and a sense of belonging through loving interactions
