Ange and I have had the most incredible week of learning this week!

To start our LMIT training, we had a 5 day face-to-face intensive professional development element. This will now move into deep literacy learning over the next year.

We absolutely loved it! It was great to consolidate our knowledge and also touch on elements that will be further explored in modules during the training. You can find out more about our training here:

October is also Dyslexia Awareness Month.

I've uploaded a poster about dyslexia awareness - there are a lot of myths out there about it... this will help provide facts about dyslexia.

Hi everyone,

Happy holidays!

We are at the end of yet another wonderful and busy term. Thank you for all your hard work and for the support you provide for your children. It's fabulous seeing their knowledge and confidence grow.

Near the end of the term, many children were away with various illnesses. I hope the holidays bring relief for all families and you all get to enjoy the spring break without any bugs!

A few notices:
1. A big welcome to our new specialist educator, Ange Scott, who will be working with Learning Buds from the beginning of Term 4. We are really looking forward to having Ange on the team. We will put up her bio in the next few days.

2. Ange and I will be attending professional development during the second week of the school holidays. We are really excited to extend our knowledge further - it is our passion and there is always so much to learn!

3. Birchs Road is closed for resurfacing for a few weeks. This may impact people's normal travel route to Learning Buds next term. Robinsons Road is still open, as is Ellesmere Road. I recommend having a look to see if adjustments are needed for your journey.

4. I have a couple of Talisman card packs out on loan at the moment. If you have one at your house, can it please be brought back next term, as they are used a lot. Thanks so much

Wow! It’s so busy in Term 2! What a great term we have had! Thank you to all children and families!

Have a great break!

Here is a pic of Stanley leaning his words with irregular sound patterns. He spends a few minutes 3 times a week. He checks out the tricky part of the word, then says the letter names as he writes the word. Nailing it, Stan! Good boy!

IMPORTANT - We have road works that are causing diversions in our local area from 17 February.
Please have a look to see if it will affect your journey for your lesson (and to see Stanley!)

It's been great to get started officially for 2024 at Learning Buds today!

Thanks to everyone who has sent back their enrolment forms. If you haven't yet had a chance to get them to me yet, I'd appreciate them this week as they are now due.

We still have a few places available during the school day for sessions. If you know of anyone thinking about Structured Literacy support, please do let them know about Learning Buds.

It's been fantastic to meet new families over the holidays for Mini Literacy Assessments. Our friend Stanley has been in his element greeting new friends. He was definitely excited to see the children returning for lessons today. Sitting on the chair by himself as I worked at the desk over the break just wasn't the same without a small buddy beside him.

We are both looking forward to a fabulous term!
