Tomorrow morning (Thursday 6th June), the Shade Plus team will be onside from 0800 to begin the installation of our new shade sails.
The team will begin by excavating six holes and installing posts. A hydrovac machine will be used.
I have been provided with a safety plan from Shade Plus and the area will be isolated cones and a "spotter" used to ensure everyone's safety.
Please take care accessing the area between the resource / ESOL room (the older looking classroom between Rooms 1-4 and the playground) and the playground.
Thank you.
Nick

Dress in Pink & Bring a Gold Coin Donation - Speak up, Stand Together, Stop Bullying!

Pink Shirt Day is about working together to stop bullying by celebrating diversity and promoting kindness and inclusiveness. It’s about creating a community where all people feel safe, valued and respected.

For further information check out : https://pinkshirtday.org.nz/

To celebrate this important kaupapa we will be participating in the nationwide Pink Shirt Day (17th May).

Children, staff and whānau are encouraged to wear as much pink as possible on Friday the 17th of May.

For those who can, a gold coin donation is appreciated. By donating to Pink Shirt Day, you're supporting the Mental Health Foundation of New Zealand to reduce bullying; through raising awareness about bullying prevention, funding education workshops, and supplying thousands of free resources that promote inclusive workplaces, schools, and communities.

Good afternoon families,

Just in case you aren't aware, Easter Tuesday is a school holiday and as such all schools in New Zealand are closed.
The Tuesday following Easter Monday is a school holiday (but not a statutory holiday), meaning schools must not be open.

In addition, on the following day, our teaching staff will be attending a Union Meeting in the afternoon. On this day, we ask that you collect your child at 12:30pm. We have very limited capacity for children to remain at school after 12:30.

Please read this article and complete the survey linked within so that we know your intentions for your child/ren.

Tomorrow we welcome back the Ko Taku Reo "Day School" (sometimes known as "The Hub").
Redwood provides a venue for hearing impaired tamariki who attend local mainstream schools to come together on Thursdays for a day's learning using New Zealand Sign Language and Ko Taku Reo (KTR) specialist teachers.
We love this collaboration which benefits the KTR students and our Redwood Tamariki.
Welcome back!

Dear Parents,

We have just had a visit from the fire department due to a accidental alarm activation.

We are all safe and well and our tamariki and staff knew exactly what to do.

We received excellent service from Fire and Emergency - they arrived within 5 miniutes.

We are already back into our usual routine and enjoying a sunny lunch break.

Ngā mihi,

The Redwood Team.
