Please consider coming along with your young person to hear Abbas. With so many of our young people experiencing lives of constant change and uncertainty, this story is especially important to hear. A journey of hope and resilience as an Afghani refugee child.

Blazers and ties please

WOW! Our first assembly in over a year is happening TOMORROW! This means you all need to have your blazers on, deans will be checking, and make sure you are wearing a mask, properly, please (unless you have an exemption).

Teacher Accord Day on Thursday but the uniform shop will still be open from 1pm-5pm.

Welcome back - lots of confusion around mask wearing - please see below what I have sent to all students. The more support we have from home the better.

ALL students who do not have exemptions are required to continue to wear masks inside at LHS. We are really fortunate to have had a slow, low spread which has enabled the school to stay open and not have to close due to too many contracting COVID or isolating at the same time. We wish for this to continue and masks are a significant way we can slow down the spread so it is manageable. The government has instructed that schools are now responsible to make their own decisions surrounding what is 'expected' - much like the 'expectations' around uniform. This is because schools around the country have experienced very different rates of spread and are in different positions with regard to cases etc. Hope this explains it a bit....???? An expectation is essentially the same as a 'rule' - we use the terms interchangeably.

We really need your support to help us with this. Wearing masks slows down the spread and means that we wont have everyone away at the same time. If this happens we will not have the staff to manage the school.

This is not about what is mandatory by the government and what isn't - it's about doing what we can to keep our school operating. Term 2 is an important term for you - we don't want any further disruptions.

Hi Year 11’s!!! Only two sleeps to go! Here is a picture of my dog, Buster. I can’t wait to share my wee story about him with you all on Thursday. You can tell he knows he’s in trouble because he is avoiding eye contact with me 🤔. Please get in touch if you have any uniform issues or need support in any way. See you soon.

I know it may feel that I go on and on and on anout this but….. please, please, please check that your uniform still fits. Especially shorts and skirts. Year 11 is notoriously the year that you grow out of everything. There are some great items available on the second hand page as well. Skirt wearers are also notorious for trying to fit into the same skirt they got fitted into in Year 8 until they are Year 13. Our bodies can grow and change shape drastically over the teenage years and this is how nature has designed us 🌼. Skirts need to be ‘on the knee’. Please get in touch if you need any assistance with purchasing uniform items. See you in a few weeks 🤗. (I opted for a nagging horse pic as when I googled ‘small tight shorts’ what popped up was kind of disturbing 😳)

Massive shoutout to for supporting our Year 10 students at LHS create a stocking chocolate garland for the children’s ward at the hospital. Only two lessons in and the students have learnt the basics to casting on and knitting! Follow Hannah, Skye, Divana, Liam, Willow and Naledi here!!!

Hi guys!!!! I can imagine the disappointment that we have organised classes for you for the coming days :-) but don't forget - we have been here before and we are prepared to do it again. It's important that we keep your brains ticking over but alongside that - also make sure you communicate to anyone if you are feeling overwhelmed. We know from our feedback last year that our Year 10's were one of the groups that had a high work expectation. As a management team we identified this and we will ensure that this doesn't happen again - BUT - please communicate . Follow the news to keep yourself informed and avoid 'fake news'. Please checkin online at Linc today with your teacher and communicate any device or internet issues that you may have. Go Team of 5 Million!!!!
