Lately, life has been full in all the best and busiest ways.

Between raising children, working full-time, settling into our new home, and carrying all the moving parts that come with everyday life, things have been been on pause with Woven Māori.

Like many wāhine and whānau, I’ve been balancing the juggle — family, work, responsibilities, and the quiet commitment to keep building something meaningful.

Woven Māori has been moving a little slower lately, but never without intention. Every season brings growth, and this one has been about creating strong foundations — at home, in life, and in business.

And now, things are beginning to shift.

There is movement happening. Fresh energy. New direction. A new season for Woven Māori is beginning, and I’m excited for what’s to come.

Thank you for being here, for your patience, and for continuing to support this kaupapa as it goes through changes.

Over the years I have observed there is an interest in more weaving wananga (workshops). If you live in Ōtautahi Christchurch or surrounding area and interested in the kauapapa of weaving together (beginners welcome).

Kāwai raupapa (level 4) - Certificate in Māori and Indigenous Art EXHIBITION

Today marked the completion of our course, but our raranga continues.

The haerenga has been the greatest experience in developing new skills and techniques from our kaiako. It's been made possible because of her patience and the tautoko and awhina of the tauira.

Today we shared our display with whanau, friends and the public ✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️
