Celebrating Student Excellence in Dance

One of our dedicated Year 10 dancers, Isabel Wigley, recently travelled to Melbourne to take part in the Victorian Dance Festival. What an incredible opportunity on an international stage!

During the festival, Isabel trained with world-renowned choreographers and performed in the Ignite Showcase alongside talented dancers from across Australia.

We are so proud of her courage, growth, and willingness to step outside her comfort zone. This is exactly what it means to be a lifelong learner and artist!

Join us in celebrating this incredible achievement!

From New York-trained actor, playwright and Old Girl, Emma Cushing, My Name is Moo is a piece dedicated to the process of becoming.
Emma studied Drama at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. After completing her degree, she worked for a production company producing theatre for Broadway. Now based back in New Zealand, Emma is delighted to be premiering her one -woman show, My Name is Moo where her love of theatre began.

Moo takes us back through the years, navigating growing up, girlhood, and the expectations that accompany it. Joy, curiosity, confusion, heartbreak, and hope shape Meg’s path into adulthood.

🎭 Audition Skills in Action 🎭

On the final day of school, our Year 12 and 13 Drama students were lucky to take part in an audition workshop with Nic Kyle. Nic is a professional actor and the current Vocal Director for our senior production.

Nic guided students through how to dissect a script quickly and meaningfully, helping them show casting directors a clear understanding of the play, character, and motivations in a short audition setting. Students workshopped scenes from the Aotearoa New Zealand play Daughters of Heaven, and a few brave volunteers received focused support on their monologues; exploring how to show intention, clarity, and presence when standing on stage alone.

A huge thank you to Nic for sharing his industry insight and for guiding our ākonga with generosity and care. An inspiring and empowering way to wrap up the term!
