UC researchers win large-scale funding to solve real-world challenges 25/09/2023

Big news! Four UC Smart Ideas research projects just scored around $1 million each, and three Research Programmes secured a whopping $24.9 million in the 2023 MBIE Endeavour Fund.

Two of these came from our very own, Chemical and Process Engineering department!

Special congratulations to:
Professor Peter Gostomski,
"Enhancing the sustainability of dairy farming using advanced methane biofiltration", $999 999.
Professor Gostomski is leading a research project which aims to use methane-eating microbes as an on-farm biofilter that converts methane into carbon-neutral CO2.

Professor Daniel Holland,
"Refining the future of forensic drug testing using NMR" $999,999.
Professor Holland and his team are refining a technique called nuclear magnetic resonance and plan to use it to measure the content and concentration of illicit drugs more accurately and easily.
