This month we continue our deep dive into the 5 personality patterns of somatic psychology.
"The Merging Pattern" - Are you, or someone close to you;
Very loving (perhaps too much emphasis on love)
Very generous (even prone to giving away too much)
Almost always happy and bubbly
Difficult to fully satisfy
Manipulative in getting own needs met
As with all the 'patterns of attention', the merging pattern has it's gifts and challenges - we will explore these on the 31st, and practice the complimentary skills of;
Grounding
Experiencing the Core of Self
Experiencing the Boundary of Self
Direct communication
Making requests

Last year a group member asked if we could cover 'Attachment Styles', and I explained that I'd like to approach such topics through the lens of Personality. This lens provides insights into many aspects of psychology which cannot be understood as 'stand alone' topics.

See you at 1pm on the 31st!

Our next free community education class will be held on Saturday March 29 at 1pm.
Here's an outline from the Meetup site (you're welcome to come directly if you're not on Meetup).
As we continue our exploration of Somatic (body-based) Psychology, we come to the notion of the 'True Self'.
This is a common theme in the Arts and Existential Philosophy (Aristotle, Sartre, Kierkegaard, Heidegger, and Buber).Recent cognitive behavioral research has also shed light on the subject and demonstrated a direct link between our (cognitive) access to who we are at our core, and the experience of meaning in our lives.
In this months meeting we will trace an outline of the 'true-self' concept in western thought, tying it in with our current topic of Personality Patterns.
Join us at 1pm Saturday 29 March for a personal encounter with your true-self!

Aristotle's Theory of Causation Join George and John as they discuss and debate different Philosophical ideas. Today they will be discussing Aristotle’s Theory of Causation.Upon studying th...
