This week at Little House, we’re celebrating Valentine’s Day with love, creativity, and fun! Our tamariki are enjoying a variety of activities, including making cards, painting, creating delicious jelly treats, arranging beautiful flowers, baking scones, and having a blast with an outdoor relay. It’s a week filled with joy, teamwork, and sweet memories!

Today, we bid farewell to our very first student at Little House. From her early days in our nursery to blossoming into an amazing young girl, we have cherished every step of her journey. Our Little House community is so proud of her and wishes her all the best as she moves on this exciting new chapter in primary school. Go shine bright—you will always be part of our Little House family!

Let’s observe Sven as he engages with this puzzle, demonstrating focus and determination. Initially, he experienced frustration, but through hands-on exploration, repetition, and motivation — which are key principles of the Montessori approach - he has developed mastery over the past two weeks. By allowing himself time to practice at his own pace, self-correct, and build confidence, Sven has transformed challenges into opportunities for growth. His journey is a beautiful example of resilience, independence, and the joy of learning through discovery.

We honored Waitangi Day by exploring the importance of kaitiakitanga (guardianship) and the Treaty of Waitangi in fun and meaningful ways.

🏔️ Our tamariki built a maunga in the sandpit, imagining it as Aoraki from the South Island. They showed great care and respect in protecting it—just as we must protect our land, a key value in the Treaty.

🤝 We did a reenactment of the Treaty of Waitangi, helping our tamariki understand the importance of agreements, respect, and working together.

🏡 Our children also demonstrated manaakitanga by looking after our preschool environment, keeping it clean and tidy.

👑 Lastly, we created a beautiful korowai in the foyer, symbolizing our promise to uphold the values of the Treaty of Waitangi.

Ka pai, tamariki mā! It’s inspiring to see our young ones embracing the principles of respect, care, and responsibility. ❤️💙💚

Last year’s Year-End Concert at Little House was a spectacular celebration of diversity and storytelling, featuring The Great Animal Race—a vibrant retelling of the legend behind the Lunar New Year zodiac! 🎭🐭🐯🐰

Through music and dance, our tamariki embraced different cultures as part of our Montessori curriculum, fostering appreciation, respect, and joy in learning. 🎶🌏

Look back at this unforgettable event and see how our young stars shined on stage! 💫🥳 What a lovely and successful celebration it was! 🎊❤️

Little hands at work: Our tamariki enjoyed creating vibrant rangoli designs using sequins, colored rice, and glitter! This activity not only sparks creativity but also strengthens their fine motor skills as they carefully place each tiny piece. A wonderful blend of art, culture, and skill-building!
