Our tamariki explored a dinosaur world with an exciting sensory exploration. The floor was covered in orange ‘lava’ salt with the addition of cardboard structures. The tamariki shared amazing storytelling as they created various dinosaur environments and worked collaboratively to bring their dinosaur ideas to life.

This week our Wayfinders tamariki have been excitedly preparing for the FIFA World Cup 2026. Our young soccer players have been competing in various games as they shared their skills and ideas from the football clubs they attended after preschool. The tamariki then shared their creative expression as they created a soccer field to be displayed on the wall alongside images of themselves that they coloured in. The tamariki are eagerly waiting for the games to be completed so we can add the outcomes to the chart and to cheer their countries on with pride.

For World Ocean Day, our Wayfinders tamariki refined their working theories around the habitats for animals that live in the ocean. They shared their creative expression and developed their fine motor skills as they cut pipe cleaners to create the water and used pencils to design the ocean floor. Throughout the exploration, they discovered the many shades of blue and explored how different art resources can be used to create texture and depict their ideas.

This week, our Discoverer tamariki celebrated Samoan Language Week through sensory explorations and storytelling. From oceans and volcanoes to traditional legends, the tamariki explored Samoan culture alongside developing their love for learning.
