Thanks to everyone who came on Saturday to help with the Litter Intelligence Audit!
It is great to see that litter in Windsurfer's Reserve is decreasing! We found 141 fewer litter pieces than last time, with a 2% decrease in overall plastics.
This is what citizen science is all about - contributing to data and statistics that can be analysed to see how things are changing!
Check out the full audit results here: https://litterintelligence.org/data/survey?id=3876
Curious to see how it works and contribute to meaningful change?
Come to our next audit at Sumner Beach on 13th June at 10 am.

Over the weekend as part of the Mother of All Clean Ups, we ran a Litter Intelligence audit in the Avon-Heathcote Estuary for the community to attend.
This site had a litter density of 1037 items per 1,000γ‘, which is the most litter-dense site we've ever audited!
75% of the litter by number of items was plastic, with 730 items found in total.
It's surprising just how diverse litter can be at the different sites we audit.
Curious to take part?
Join our next one on the 23rd May 2pm-4pm at Windsports Park.

Here are some ideas!

π· Cook a tasty meal with your Mum
π· Gift her reusables - reusable face wipes, drink bottle, coffee cup, etc
Swap single-use gifts for ones that last and matter π«Ά
