The older nursery children had a go at the Preschool playground this morning. They challenged themselves to climb and manoeuvre their bodies to succeed at the climbing frames and obstacle course that was set up.
They all did so well working out their limits and taking their time as to what they were comfortable doing

New Playground!
Our preschool tamariki have been enjoying using the climbing equipment/balance beams and playing on our wonderful new soft fall playground.

Working together to create team work and lots of water all through the sandpit was the mission for the preschool children.
They worked together to dig a channel to move the water to the sandpit before creating lots of diversions with pipes and channels for everyone to have fun and muck in.
So many conversations happened with the older tamariki supporting the younger tamariki to where they should dig and when to stop and start the hose

Preschool tamariki enjoyed taking charge of their own learning while using the ipad on a timer to capture themselves having fun outside. This helps them understand how technology works and encourages them to use new and familiar equipment.

‘Gotta Catch Them All’ was the theme of the morning for the Preschool tamariki as they all worked hard together to hunt down all the Pokemon on their scavenger hunt.
There were Pokemon scattered all over the playground and the tamariki had to use their matching skills to cross them all off their list….there was lots of team work happening when some could find ones that others couldn’t and lots of smiles when they were all found

This afternoon the Preschool tamariki took a trip down to our farm yard to feed the animals all the left overs….they enjoyed being able to hand feed our Goat Snowy and throw some food to the chickens and our pig Wilber….after the hard work was done it was time for a play on the playground to challenge themselves physically

Chalk Creations!
Our preschool tamariki have been learning awareness of shape, form and detail while being creative with chalk. The preschool tamariki enjoyed drawing outlines around each other, drawing pictures and having fun with hop skotch!

With the weather beginning to warm up our Nursery tamariki have been enjoying having fun with water while learning about buoyancy, sharing and turn taking.

Each day our Preschool tamariki split into age appropriate groups before lunch to focus on different learning.
Today our 2 year olds spent time on our field running Round chasing bubbles while also finding oranges to pick. Our 3 year olds and 4 year olds also spent some time learning about road signs to keep ourselves safe
