🌱 Making a Difference at Rotopiko Wetlands 🌱

Today, four of our students proudly represented our school at the Rotopiko Wetlands Planting Day, joining other local schools to help restore this important natural environment.

The students worked incredibly hard, planting around 50 native trees and shrubs each during the morning session. Combined with their teacher's efforts, that's more than 250 trees and shrubs planted by the Te Miro team alone! 🌿

They also took part in a range of hands-on learning experiences led by Enviroschools, DOC, and GoEco, asking thoughtful questions and engaging enthusiastically with the experts.

Beyond their hard work, our students were outstanding ambassadors for our school. Their positive attitudes, curiosity, respect, and willingness to get involved reflected the values we strive to foster every day.

We are proud to see our young people taking action for the environment and developing the knowledge and skills to become future kaitiaki of our natural world. 💚

🇼🇸✨ Manuia le Vaiaso o le Gagana Samoa! Happy Samoan Language Week! ✨🇼🇸

A huge fa’afetai (thank you) to Sarah for bringing a bowlful of Samoan hospitality to our kura today. ❤️🍜

Our tauira were lucky enough to enjoy a delicious snack of homemade chop suey, and it was an absolute hit! 😋👏 Judging by the enthusiastic reviews, your children may well be coming home asking for more — so you might want to hit Sarah up for the recipe! 😉

Not only did we get to enjoy some incredible food, but we were also able to build on our current learning about migrants and Pacific migration to Aotearoa. It was a fantastic opportunity to connect our classroom learning with culture, stories, and lived experiences. 🌏🌺

Samoan Language Week is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the language, culture, and traditions of Samoa, and today was a beautiful reminder of the power of sharing and community. 🤝❤️

Fa’afetai tele lava, Sarah, for your generosity and for helping us celebrate Vaiaso o le Gagana Samoa in such a meaningful (and delicious!) way. 🇼🇸✨
