🚴‍♀️🚴 Another cool Te Awa Community Event is back... the Te Awa Light Night!

NEW DATE: Saturday 12 September, from 6.00pm

After a few hugely successful events over the past three years, they're doing it all again and lighting up parts of the Te Awa River Ride from the Gaslight Theatre in Cambridge after dark!

Grab your family, kids and friends and get out after dark and enjoy a short walk or bike ride along Te Awa and experience the trail in a totally different way.

🤩 Completely free for everyone, there’ll be food trucks, facepainting, entertainment and live music...

👋👋 Orientation mornings for Year 6 students (and teachers) - next Wednesday & Thursday...

💙 Wednesday 02 September: Cambridge East, Karapiro & Roto-O-Rangi
💙 Thursday 03 September: Goodwood and Leamington
💙 Times for both days: 10.30am - 12.00pm.
❗️ Students from other non-contributing schools are welcome on either day
❗Cambridge Primary will be attending a separate orientation morning on Monday 07 September.

This is an opportunity for Year 6 students to spend some time orienting themselves at CMS. The orientation will begin in the hall with students arriving there by 10.30am. Students should wear their normal school clothes.

Teachers (& Parents from non-contributing schools) are welcome to come to the staffroom or head off site during the Orientation time.

Students will spend time doing a school tour and participating in class/activities with CMS students and getting a feel for the school environment. They will then have a short 'brain break' from 11.40am-11.50am with the rest of our school.

👚👕👖 REMINDER: We are having a Casual Clothes Day TOMORROW Friday 28 August and ask that students bring along a gold coin donation in exchange for wearing non-uniform clothes that day.

🌟 OUT-OF-ZONE ENROLMENTS FOR 2026 SCHOOL YEAR 🌟

Due to continued growth, Cambridge Middle School implemented an Enrolment Zone from the beginning of the 2021 school year.

The Board invites applications from parents who wish to enrol their children at Cambridge Middle School next year in Years 7/8/9/10. If the number of out-of-zone applications exceeds the number of places available, students will be selected by ballot.

🔵 Closing date for out-of-zone applications is Monday 31 August 2026
🔵 Ballot, if required — Monday 07 September
🔵 Applicants notified — Friday 11 September

💛💛💛 Yellow Day for Harold - thanks for your support...

Yesterday we had our 'Wear Yellow for Harold' fundraising day combining a casual clothes day (lots and lots of YELLOW) and food sales.

Both were very well supported by our awesome school community and we raised over $800 to support Life Education to empower tamariki, THANK YOU 😍

🌿🌺🏡 Big thanks to Amber Garden Centre and Lions Club of Cambridge

The Cambridge Middle School Envirogroup is incredibly grateful for the amazing donations of materials from Amber Garden Centre and The Cambridge Lion's Shed.

Thanks to their generosity and wonderful community spirit, our students have exactly what they need to bring our fledgling herb and vegetable beds, and our tiny natives nursery up to speed.

We really appreciate their support in helping us grow a greener future 💚

👚👖 CASUAL CLOTHES DAY - TOMORROW Thursday 20 August 👕🩳

TOMORROW Thursday 20 August is casual clothes day for 'Wear Yellow for Harold' Day, so come along to school in your YELLOW clothing and bring a gold coin donation 😍

🍿🍬 There will also be some food items for sale on the day, $1 or $2, cash only.

'Wear Yellow for Harold' Day will help raise awareness and funds, supporting Life Education to empower tamariki to make positive choices for their health and wellbeing through the Healthy Harold Programme.

🏐🏐🏐 Today our Year 7 & Year 8 Netball teams competed at WIMS Netball. The sun was shining and both teams played their hearts out.

Our year 7 team, made up of 4 different club teams, played beautifully together and finished in 4th place.

Our year 8 AIMS team had an epic day of good results and played an exciting final against Maeroa which resulted in a 9-7 win 🏆

Massive thank you to Miss Fuller, Mrs van de Wall, and all the parents and whānau who came to support our teams. Thank you to Maeroa Intermediate for hosting a brilliant day. We are very proud! 💙
