✨ Strengthening Independence | Te Māramatanga ki te Ao ✨
Our under 2s have been busy building their independence through meaningful everyday experiences. From washing windows and cleaning chairs to getting dressed and putting on their own shoes, these simple tasks help tamariki develop confidence, coordination, and a growing sense of capability.
As they explore and participate in caring for themselves and their environment, they are developing an understanding of how the world works and their place within it. These moments foster perseverance, responsibility, and pride in their achievements.
Through hands-on learning and real-life experiences, our tamariki are strengthening their independence while deepening their connection to the world around them.
🌿 "Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn."

Our tamariki enjoy time with Sparrow. 🐴
It is more than just a pony ride, they learn to take care of him, brushing him, cleaning his hooves, and feed him with gentle hands and caring hearts. Through these moments, they learn about responsibility, respect, and building relationships with living things.

Little scientists at work in our preschool room today! 🧪✨
The tamariki had so much fun exploring colours, mixing ingredients, pouring, stirring, and creating magical potions together. Through hands-on play, the children were developing curiosity, problem-solving skills, communication, and creativity while experimenting like real scientists.
There were lots of excited conversations, wonder, and laughter as each potion became a new discovery! 💫🌈

Fresh herbs from our garden added a beautiful sensory element to our playdough table today.
Inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach, tamariki explored natural textures, scents, creativity, and connection with nature through play and discovery.

This morning was full of rich conversation, collaboration, and a whole lot of negotiating as two of our tamariki explored building with loose parts. Every piece placed sparked new ideas, every piece invited discussion, and every decision helped shape their shared vision.
We love loose parts play at House of Wonder Cambridge as there is endless possibilities, empowering tamariki to be designers, engineers, and storytellers of their own learning.
