Today we celebrate a 5th birthday. He has been here since before he turned 1,and thanks to being my daughters friends little brother we have known him since birth. We know we'll see him again but it will still be so strange not to have him here each week. Happy school days Max. ❤️

One of today's activities is rainbow fish collages. The activity was contactless dropped to us by my VT and was great way for my 3x4yr olds to sit and chat while practicing turn taking, making choices of which paper pieces to stick on, patience while letting others make choices, and following a method of gluing then sticking the paper, and working out where to position each piece. Such beautiful sparkly fish were created too.

Well, today marks day one with my new company. They have done all they can to fast track us in light of our previous company going into liquidation which left us a few weeks without pay. I'm excited and nervous to be coming on board a new company with familiar processes but some differences as is always the way. I loved working with the women from my old network and am stoked to have had many of us wind up back together under a new umbrella so hopefully life can resume some normalcy again. It was 5yrs to the day with creators, and so here is to the next 5 years and beyond.

Merry Christmas. I got some lovely handmade gifts this Christmas, one that was super special, Mr 4 had some lavender that was picked, placed into a jar that he decorated, and with a mesh layer on top to create a sensory sniff jar. Mum messaged me to warn me as the lavender was a bit old by the time I got it but that she was so impressed by how long her son paid attention and how sweet he was being while wanting to create gifts for people. What a special gift.

Some days feel the same as yesterday, today definitely did not. We were invited to walk around the lake with another Educator and had a great start to our day checking out the new animals at the lake. When we got home it was time to bake as requested by my 12yr old for her lunchbox in her last week of school. Then after nap time we picked up the school girls. My 12yr old talked about being taught ukelele and wanting to come home and learn more. Miss 8 and miss 4 wanted to join in but with one ukelele it meant we got out the keyboard and electric guitar instead and right now the house is full of the sound of children learning musical instruments, practicing their patience, perseverance, listening to instructions, using their memories, and having a great time.

Wow what a big day. From a busy morning of playdough, pompoms, oorbeez, pretend play, eating, sleeping, and having a great time playing a board game with my 3 x 3-4yr olds, to ending the day with dress ups and soft toys getting a wash, the last of the oorbeez and the playdough in the bin (we don't mind an excuse to make more later), and all other surfaces cleaned to prepare for level 3 tomorrow. Hopefully a short lived lockdown and as always I hope you all stay safe.

Today we got to visit the neighbour who has a lamb called Dot for ag day at school. We were invited to come down at feeding time and got to help give Dot a drink, as well as helping walk her on a leash, and following her around the property for a pat.

New playdough day, blue was requested. Unfortunately we discovered while making it that we were low on cream of tartar but we persevered anyway and it seems to have still worked, it just may not last as long as long as other batches do but is definitely fit for purpose today.

Never a dull moment with 3 year olds. Today we are doing some impromptu baking requested by Miss 3. When some of the paper cases for our cupcakes got munched they wouldn't work to hold our muffins and were set aside. The air flow from the heat pump caught them and blew them off the bench, so now while the cupcakes bake we have cupcake cases races happening across the now tidied kitchen bench.
