This Monday we’re shining the spotlight on Sam, our awesome Preschool Teacher!

Sam has a wonderful hands-on approach and is always ready to join in a game or have fun with the tamariki. He loves getting everyone involved in music and enjoys sharing his knowledge of Japanese culture, creating meaningful learning experiences for the children.

Sam is always up for a joke, and his fun-loving nature brings plenty of laughter to our preschool room.

Daffodil Day in the Nursery! 💛🌼

Our nursery tamariki looked so cute dressed up in their awesome yellow colours for Daffodil Day! We enjoyed some painting, exploring and plenty of fun together. Such a lovely Friday spent with our little yellow crew!

This Monday we’re shining the spotlight on our wonderful new kaiako, Karissa! 💛

We are so lucky to have Karissa as part of our Preschool team. Since joining us, she has brought so much warmth, kindness, and positivity into the room. Her gentle nature helps children feel safe, valued, and supported, while her fresh ideas and enthusiasm bring new opportunities for learning and exploration every day.

She has already built lovely relationships with both our tamariki and teaching team, and her caring approach shines through in everything she does.

Yesterday morning, our nursery tamariki had lots of fun exploring some sensory bags made by kaiako Meghan! Each bag had different textures and feelings inside, and the tamariki loved pushing, squishing and moving them around, discovering how each one felt.

It was so cool watching all our curious little explorers investigate in their own ways and enjoy this simple sensory experience! 🫟

This Monday we’re shining the spotlight on our amazing Kindy Support Teacher, Ange! 💛

Ange is kind, caring, hilarious, and our self-confessed clean freak! She always knows how to make both the tamariki and the team giggle, bringing so much joy to our days.

She’s always there to lend a helping hand, keeps our kindy running smoothly, and somehow manages to keep the rest of the kindy team in line too! 🤭

We’re beyond grateful for everything Ange does. Her kindness, dedication, and positive energy make a real difference every single day, and we’re so lucky to have her as part of our Busy Bees family

Yesterday our nursery tamariki had fun exploring a milk, food dye and dishwashing liquid experiment! 🌈
Once we added the dye to the milk and touched it with a Q-tip dipped in dishwashing liquid, the colours started swirling and moving around, mixing together to create a really cool rainbow effect.

The best part was hearing all the “ooooo’s”, “ahhhh’s” and giggles as we watched it happen! Such a fun little experiment and a great way to encourage curiosity and exploration.

Last night, some of our amazing Kindy and Preschool tamariki proudly represented Lake Terrace at the Kāhui Ako ki Ōtākaro Kapa Haka Festival! 🌿

We were so lucky to join two of our other Busy Bees centres and celebrate the tamariki coming together through kapa haka, culture and whanaungatanga.

We are incredibly proud of our tamariki- they looked amazing up on stage and represented Lake Terrace so beautifully! What a special experience and something they should all be so proud of. Ka pai, tamariki!

Painting outside in the fresh air with friends is a wonderful way to start the morning. While engaged in this experience, tamariki had the opportunity to explore their creativity, and develop social skills such as taking turns and working with others, all while enjoying nature. Watching creativity come to life makes for the perfect morning!
