Exploring the science of milk! 🥛🔬

Yesterday Kauri class had an incredible hands-on learning experience using the House of Science - Moo to You kit.

Our young scientists have been busy:
🧪 Mixtures vs. Solutions: Investigating what happens when different substances mix together and discovering how to tell them apart.
🥛 Milk & Fat Content: Observing what happens when you add fat/oil to milk.
🐾 Mammals: Exploring what makes a mammal a mammal and how milk plays a vital role in animal life!

It’s been fantastic seeing our tamariki so engaged, asking big questions, and experimenting like real scientists. Ka rawe! 🌟

✨ What a night at the Bunnythorpe School Disco!

On Friday night the Bunnythorpe Community Centre was filled with awesome tunes, glowing lights, and non-stop energy! A huge thank you to everyone who came along, showed off their best dance moves, and helped make the night such a huge success.

Special thanks to all the amazing parent volunteers who gave up their time to set up, run the food & drink stand, kept everything running smoothly, and tidied up after all the fun—we couldn’t have done it without you! ❤️

On Friday, we planted lovely Captain Cook heritage strawberries kindly donated by Kōanga.
We also sowed seeds, used dock leaves as rongoā to soothe itchy stings, weeded vege beds, mulched with alpaca wool, and planted peas and zucchini in the tunnel house. 🌿🍓

To make Friday afternoon even more special, Tim stayed to help us celebrate our latest PROUD Token winners! Seeing our tamariki recognised for showing our school PROUD values alongside such an inspiring role model was a wonderful moment for our whole school community.

Congratulations to all of our PROUD Token winners for keeping up the fantastic work! 👏🎉

📚✨ What an Inspiring Afternoon! ✨📚

We had such a fantastic time on Friday at our Duffy Role Model Assembly! A massive thank you to award-winning author Tim Tipene (Ngāti Kurī, Te Uri O Hau, Ngāti Whātua) for visiting Bunnythorpe School and spending time with our tamariki.

The kids absolutely loved hearing his story, learning about what inspires his books like Mrs Battleship, Rona Moon, and Haere, and being reminded of how powerful reading can be! 🌟📖

Thank you, Tim, for inspiring our next generation of readers and storytellers!
