Lodge Eckford 334

Lodge Eckford 334 Freemasonry membership. We meet on the first Tuesday of the month, tyling (meeting commences) 7:30pm, except for September and January.

We welcome membership enquiries and any questions about Freemasonry - just ask! Freemasons is a fraternal society for men 18 years and over, regardless of religions or backgrounds, who share a concern for human values, moral standards and the rights of individuals. It provides members with an opportunity for public service and hands-on involvement in charitable and community issues, as well as a c

hance to socialise with other men. Freemasons have always enjoyed the trusted friendships that come through belonging to the organisation. But in this open and transparent era in which we all live, we have a responsibility to discuss our organisation in the wider community. Some of the best advocates for Freemasonry are our families and friends, it’s our responsibility to help them understand the value of Freemasonry in a way that is easily understood by those without a masonic background. Freemasonry is founded upon principles of care, kindness, honesty and trust. These are timeless values that are as relevant to the world today as they were 300 years ago when the organisation was established, and throughout the 150 years we have supported and cared for the people of New Zealand. Our organisation has given much and has much to offer. We are an amalgamation of the old and the new, of tradition and modernisation, and an organisation that fits comfortably into the 21st century, Our future is bright, and I am sure you will see men of calibre wanting to become Freemasons.

Freemasons support Food Banks in Ashburton. freemasonsnz.org Please like, follow and share our posts

About $1500 of non-perishable grocery items and vouchers have been donated by members of the four Freemasons Lodges in Ashburton for distribution to food banks in town.

The members of Thistle 113, Erewhon 200, Harmony 325 and Ashburton 1811 EC did a collection last year and, recognising the ongoing need, have repeated it again this year.

The items were distributed to St Vincent de Paul and Salvation Army.

Charity Officer Roger Paterson (centre) said members thought the middle of the year was a good time to ask members to give items which included food, toiletries and other household items.

Winter, and its associated increased costs, was likely a time more people would turn to the foodbanks for assistance, which then needed to fill their shelves.

We are aware that the supplies that come in through the likes of ‘Toot for Tucker’ earlier in the year would be dwindling by this time, Roger said.

He said lodges across the Region undertake many charitable acts throughout the year, supporting those in need in the community. ‘‘We’re New Zealand’s best kept secret,’’ he said.

Lodge Rotorua No 153 helped Harrison Roberts-Brake, from Shakespeare Globe Centre New Zealand (SGCNZ) and their SGCNZ Young Shakespeare Company 2026, to have the opportunity to gain experience working with his peers and experienced actors and teachers at the Globe Theatre in London and Shakespeare's home of Stratford-upon-Avon.

To quote Harrison: "Fresh off my experience overseas as a member of the SGCNZ Young Shakespeare Company 2026, I can confidently state that I have just enjoyed possibly the most wonderful experience of my life so far. As a passionate artist manoeuvring the competitive world of acting post high-school, being a member of this company was a true breath of fresh air and a reminder of what I truly love and aspire to do with my future. The Young Shakespeare Company programme gives inspired youth in New Zealand a rare look into various aspects of professional theatre in London, and enables us to work under truly invaluable experience and take a mountain of learning back home, as well as lifelong memories."

The seven traditional fine arts are painting, sculpture, architecture, literature, music, theatre, and film, many of which fitted into Harrison's overseas experience.

🏆🌎 10TH IN THE WORLD!

What a way to finish an incredible journey!

Celtic Pipe Band Grade 2 .....10th overall in the world!

To stand on that field in Glasgow, surrounded by some of the very best bands in the world, is something we’ll never forget. The hours of practice, the hard graft, the early mornings, the late nights and everything in between, it all led us here.

We couldn’t be prouder of every single member of our band.

A huge congratulations to every band who competed. The standard was incredible, and it was a privilege to share the arena with so many talented musicians from around the world.

And to everyone who has followed our journey — from back home in New Zealand 🇳🇿 and from all around the world, thank you! ❤️

Thank you for every message, comment, share, cheer and bit of encouragement. You’ve been part of this journey with us, and we’ve loved taking you along for the ride.

What started as a trip to Scotland became an experience we’ll carry with us forever.

10th in the world.
A fantastic result.
An unforgettable trip.
And memories that will last a lifetime. ❤️

The Celtic Way.
