Regardless of people's past experiences with Police, it is important that our rangatahi are exposed to employment opportunities across all sectors.

Today, MYT welcomed local Police officers who spent time with our rangatahi, sharing information about the wide range of career pathways available within New Zealand Police.

After the presentation, our rangatahi had the opportunity to tackle the Police Competency Course. Let's just say we have some absolute powerhouses in our programme! Watching them climb fences, crawl under barriers, and push themselves through the course was incredible.

Our girls were a little shy at first, but once they got started, they absolutely stepped up and gave it their all.

A special shout out to Mana, who recorded the fastest time of the day with an impressive 37 seconds! 🔥👏

On Tuesday, our group of rangatahi visited the team at Crossroads Marlboroughto learn more about the incredible work they do in our community. We are looking forward to volunteering and supporting their efforts in any way we can. Whether it's washing dishes, peeling spuds, or lending a helping hand, every little bit helps.

Wednesday morning, we continued our journey of Te Reo Māori, starting with our pepeha. Our rangatahi sounded amazing speaking te reo, connecting with their whakapapa, and growing in their confidence and cultural identity. We are incredibly fortunate to have Merepeka Tepuia - Matangi sharing her knowledge and wisdom, helping our rangatahi strengthen their connection to te ao Māori and themselves. Ka mau te wehi!

This week at Marlborough Youth Trust, we're getting hands-on and making things happen!

Our rangatahi need opportunities to try new things and discover what they enjoy, as well as what they don't. Every experience helps build confidence, skills, and direction for the future.

A huge thank you to the team from Elevatepro Scaffolding and Michael for coming in and giving us a go at putting up scaffolding. The hard work, skill, and teamwork involved in putting scaffolding up and taking it down.

Wow! What an experience. We are so grateful for the opportunity to learn from the experts. If you have a trade you would like to share with our youth we are keen to hear from you!!!
