We are incredibly proud of our Witherlea rugby team for finishing 4th and for way they represented our school at the Marlborough Rugby Sevens Tournament. Throughout the day, our players displayed our school value of Kia Kaha – Be Brave, showing resilience, determination, and teamwork in every game.

After an outstanding tournament, the team narrowly missed a place in the final, losing the semi-final by just one point. They then showed great character to bounce back, with the third and fourth playoff going to golden point.

While the results didn't quite fall our way, the effort, sportsmanship, and pride shown by every player were outstanding. They should all be incredibly proud of the way they represented themselves, their teammates, and Witherlea School. Ka rawe!

A huge congratulations to Kyren Taumoefolau, Leo Marfell and Cooper Roberts, three former Witherlea School students, who proudly represented the Tasman Mako over the weekend.

To make the occasion even more special, all three boys crossed the try line! We're incredibly proud to see our former students competing at such a high level and wish Cooper, Kyren and Leo all the very best for the rest of the season.

The Friends of Witherlea Parents Committee would like to say a massive THANK YOU to everyone who supported our fundraising efforts last week.

Our bake sale and sausage sizzle during cross country was a huge success. There was barely a crumb left behind and we raised an amazing $1740. Thank you to everyone who bought a raffle ticket for the grocery baskets. The winners were drawn on Saturday night. The lucky people were:

Joey Go
Jackie Calder
Sally MacLennan

The Witherlea School Quiz night on Saturday was a smash hit! Through the silent auctions, table and bar sales we raised a whopping $11,885. Thank you so much to the Marlborough and NZ businesses, along with our wonderful Witherlea School parents and caregivers, for supporting the quiz night through generous wine donations and items for our silent auctions and raffles. We truly appreciate it and we encourage everyone to support them back. We simply could not have an event like this without them. Thank you also to Mr Johnson, Mr Stephens, Mrs Russell (and daughter) and Mrs Deane for their tremendous help during the evening.
