Mayfield School Matariki Night Ride
Kia ora whānau
What a great turn out we had for our annual Matariki Night Ride last Thursday evening. A big thanks to our staff team who organised and ran the evening event. A special thank you to Mrs Jones for making pumpkin soup and a boil up this year, with help from some of our students. The soup and the boil up were a big success on a cold night. And a big thanks to Crafar and Crouch for supporting us again with their big outdoor lights. Ngā mihi nui.

Ngā mihi nui to Lee and Canada, from the Marlborough Youth Trust, for coming to Mayfield School to support our Pink Shirt Day. Thank you for the biscuits and the wrist bands, and of course the korero. Well done to the tamariki and their whānau, and the staff, for the effort you made to support this important message - bullying is not OK.

OnTuesday this week we were extremely lucky to have a famous NZ author and illustrator come to Mayfield School to share his mahi with our tamariki. Gavin Bishop spent the morning with us and shared several of the books he has written over the years, and spoke to the tamariki about being an author and illustrator. Ngā mihi nui Gavin. Thank you for sharing yourself and your mahi with our tamariki and our staff.
