🎬 A HUGE CONGRATULATIONS TO MR AARON!

Everyone at Witherlea Taekwon-Do would like to congratulate our own Mr Aaron Falvey on an incredible achievement with his film Northspur, being released in the United States under the new title Battle Cabin through Lionsgate on 29 September.

What makes this achievement even more special is the journey it took to get there.

Aaron has spent seven years bringing this film from an idea to reality, navigating the challenges of independent filmmaking, production, sales and international distribution, and now seeing it reach American audiences through one of the biggest names in the industry.

At Witherlea Taekwon-Do, Perseverance is one of the fundamental tenets we strive to live by. It means continuing forward despite obstacles, setbacks and difficulties, and refusing to give up on the goal.

Aaron's journey with Northspur is a fantastic example of that principle in action.

Seven years of persistence, problem-solving, hard work and belief in the project has resulted in something that very few independent filmmakers ever achieve: a New Zealand-made film reaching the US market through Lionsgate.

From Blenheim, New Zealand, to American screens. 🇳🇿🇺🇸

That is a fantastic achievement and one that deserves to be celebrated.

Congratulations Mr Aaron! Your journey is a great reminder to all of us that perseverance isn't just something we talk about in Taekwon-Do. It's something we can carry into every part of our lives.

🥋 A Very Special Visit to Marlborough! 🥋

After more than 10 years, we were thrilled to welcome Grand Master Jamie Moore of Worldwide Taekwon-Do back to Marlborough to run a special seminar for a select group of our Witherlea Taekwon-Do students, alongside students from other Blenheim clubs. 👊

It was a fantastic seminar, with GM Moore sharing his extensive knowledge and experience, including a range of practical real-life self-defence and attacking techniques that we don't often get the opportunity to practise.

These were valuable, realistic skills that challenged our students and gave them techniques they can draw on should they ever need to defend themselves in a real-life situation. 🥋💥

For our instructors, the knowledge and insights shared by GM Moore were equally valuable. Even better, he commented that the techniques being demonstrated by our students were being performed to a high standard.

That is fantastic feedback and something our students should be very proud of. 👏

A huge well done to everyone who took part and made the most of this special opportunity. 💪🥋

We are already hoping to welcome GM Moore back to Marlborough in July 2027! 🤞

Thank you to all of our Witherlea Taekwon-Do who came today, you made us proud.

We are very fortunate to have the support of our Legion Taekwon-Do Instructors, seniors and members as we show our respect and gratitude to Grandmaster Jamie Moore who made today memorable, with his passion and skill for teaching Taekwon-Do.

To have someone of Grandmaster Moore's experience and standing imparting his knowledge and passion is such an honour.

A quick reminder to our Witherlea TKD whānau that term subscriptions are now due.

The great news for our school community is that children enrolled at Witherlea School train FREE! 🎉

Not at Witherlea School? No problem. Non-Witherlea students are very welcome to train with us too.

Term fees:

* Under 8 years: FREE
* 8–12 years: $48 per term
* 12–17 years: $60 per term
* Adults: $90 per term
* Family rate: $120 per family, per term

Please use the student’s name as the reference.

If possible, please also enter WTKD (Witherlea TKD) in the particulars or another available field. This helps our admin team identify which Legion club the payment is for.

We have a Grandmaster class this month on the 30th from 1pm to 3m, taught by our Grandmaster Jamie Moore.
