🌟 Puketapu Leaders at the Taranaki LEAD Conference! 🌟

Check out what our Year 7 & 8 leaders got up to a couple of Fridays ago at the Taranaki LEAD Conference!

Our students had an awesome day helping behind the scenes, meeting speakers, getting involved on stage and connecting with student leaders from other schools. They loved being part of the day and representing Puketapu School.

A big thank you to Di Hoskin for organising such a fantastic event and giving our students this opportunity.

What a fun few weeks at school! A little snapshot of some of the learning, laughs and happenings from around the kura. πŸ’š

πŸ˜‚ And then there was the β€˜Missing Rocky’ prank poster created by some of our boys in Te Puna Ako! 🐾

The best part? The looks on everyone’s faces when they spotted the poster on the office door- concern, confusion and a few β€œWHAT?!” moments… before the penny dropped that it was all a prank! πŸ˜‚πŸ™ˆ The poster only lasted a day due to all the questions 😳

A great reminder that school is about learning, but it’s also about creativity, connection, teamwork and having a bit of fun along the way.

Have a fantastic weekend, everyone! 🌟

πŸ‰βš½πŸ Interschool Sports Day! πŸβš½πŸ‰

Our Year 7 & 8 tamariki had a fantastic day in Hāwera representing Puketapu School at Interschool!

From rugby and football to netball, our students showed teamwork, encouragement, school pride and our Puketapu values throughout the day. There were plenty of games, some great results, close matches, lots of laughs and even a little candy salad!

A huge thank you to our coaches, parents and everyone who supported our teams and a special thank you to our student captains for sharing their stories from the day.

πŸ’› Daffodil Day – Friday 28 August πŸ’›

Today is Daffodil Day, a day to acknowledge the impact cancer has on individuals, whānau and communities across Aotearoa.

While we aren’t holding a school-wide Daffodil Day event this year, with Wig Wednesday for Child Cancer just around the corner, we still want to take a moment to acknowledge those in our Puketapu School community who are currently going through a cancer journey, have been through one, or have supported someone they love through theirs.

Cancer touches so many lives, and today is a chance to show our support, remember those we have lost, and recognise the strength of those facing cancer and their whānau.

πŸ’› If you would like to find out more about Daffodil Day or make a donation, visit the Cancer Society New Zealand.

Thinking of our Puketapu whānau today. πŸ’›

🌿 Nau mai, haere mai to our new whānau! πŸ’š

On Monday, we welcomed three new entrant students to our kura as part of Cohort #6, along with four other new whānau who have joined our kura over the past few weeks.

It was lovely to welcome them into our Puketapu whānau through a special mihi whakatau. 🌿

If you see our new students and whānau around the kura, please say kia ora and help us make them feel welcome! πŸ‘‹

Here are a few photos from our mihi whakatau on Monday. πŸ“Έ

πŸ† Leading by Example – Celebrating Hamuora Adams! πŸ‰πŸ€πŸ

We are incredibly proud of our Puketapu sports leader, Hamuora Adams, and the amazing attitude, sportsmanship and mana he brings to every team he is part of.

From making sure everyone gets a fair go, to representing Puketapu and Taranaki across multiple sports, Hamuora is a fantastic role model for our tamariki. His sportsmanship is regularly recognised by players, parents and teachers from other schools too!

We’ve put together a story celebrating Hamuora, his incredible sporting commitment and the way he leads by example.
