South Otago High School - Official Site South Otago High School is located in Balclutha which is 80km south of the city of Dunedin.

Founded in 1926, it is one of the oldest full secondary schools in the South Island.

Rotary Balclutha have two $1000 scholarships for Year 13 school leavers undertaking a vocational or academic pathway/course in 2027.
Y13s have been invited to submit an application by filling out the form that has been emailed to them by Friday 18th September.

Today was Daffodil Day at SOHS, and it was fantastic to see students and staff dressed in yellow 🟡 to show their support for a cause that effects so many of us.

A huge thank‑you to Lana Els, Fred Daumann, and Jess Daumann for helping count the generous community donations raised.

Daniel Dunlop took out 2nd place earning an instrumental scholarship from the Institute of Registered Music Teachers (Otago branch). Daniel was the top pianist at the event. A huge congratulations to Daniel and to Jayden Gelacio who also competed.

Tomorrow a daffodil🌼 day at SOHS.

Friday is Daffodil🌼 Day. We are holding a non‑uniform day, students are encouraged to wear yellow🟡and bring a gold coin to place on the GIANT daffodil at interval. All proceeds raised go to support our local cancer society.
