Sleep saved my family—and now I help others do the same. I’m Kim from Cherished Sleep. You don’t have to do it alone. Now I work with adults too.

I guide tired parents to peaceful nights, confident kids, and calmer homes through sleep support that actually works (and makes sense). Hi, I'm Kim, a Mum, Sleep Consultant and owner of 'Cherished Sleep'. I started by helping parents get their sleep back, one child at a time! If they didn't give you the manual for your child (or your own sleep), or your child is cat-napping, taking over your bed,

If your toddler has suddenly started fighting bedtime, getting out of bed 17 times, demanding one more drink, one more cuddle, and one more story... it doesn't necessarily mean they're not tired.

It often means they're being a toddler.

Between 18 months and 4 years, children are developing independence, testing boundaries, learning new skills, and discovering they have opinions about everything. Including bedtime.

One of the best ways to support sleep during this stage is with a consistent bedtime routine.

A predictable routine (the same steps in the same order every single night) helps your child feel safe, secure, and they start to understand what comes next. The predictability often reduces bedtime battles and gives their busy little brain a chance to switch from "go, go, go" mode into sleep mode.

Because when life feels big and exciting, a routine becomes an anchor.

✨ Client Love ✨

"I just want to say thank you so much for helping us on our journey to better sleep."

When this family first came to me, they were waking and rocking their baby back to sleep up to 5 times every night. Like so many exhausted parents, they were stuck in survival mode and struggling to stay consistent because they simply didn't have the energy.

Together, we created a plan that worked for their baby and their family, providing support, encouragement, and adjustments along the way. Even with sickness and teething thrown into the mix, they stayed the course and saw incredible progress.

Today, their little one is sleeping through the night, and Mum has something just as valuable back again: herself.

💬 "I feel like I can finally start looking after myself, my health and be the mum I want to be during the day instead of feeling like a zombie who can't wait for a nap or bedtime."

This is why I do what I do.

Sleep isn't just about getting more hours at night. It's about helping families move from struggle street and survival mode to feeling rested, connected, and able to enjoy life again.

Thank you for trusting me to be part of your journey. 🩷

DID YOU KNOW?

The 4-month sleep regression is the ONLY sleep regression caused by a permanent change in your baby's sleep cycles.

Unlike teething, illness, or developmental leaps that come and go...

🧠 The changes happening around 3-4 months are here to stay.

Your baby moves from newborn sleep into a more mature sleep pattern with multiple sleep stages. Just like adults.

That means:

⭐ More time in light sleep
⭐ More opportunities to wake
⭐ More chances to practice self-settling

So, if your baby's sleep suddenly changes around 3-4 months... know you're not doing anything wrong. Their brain is simply growing up.

Did your baby's sleep suddenly fall apart around 4 months?

You're not alone.

One minute you're celebrating longer stretches of sleep...

The next you're wondering what happened to your good little sleeper.

The truth? The 4-month sleep regression isn't really a regression at all. It's a permanent change in your baby's sleep cycles that can lead to more frequent waking and a greater need for self-settling skills.

💡 The good news: this phase doesn't have to mean months of exhaustion.

The dreaded four month sleep regression | Cherished Sleep 09/06/2026

Whatever your take on sleep regressions, it is worth talking about the four-month regression.

Everybody agrees that there is one, and for good reason. There are real changes that happen around the 3–4-month mark, and they’re actually sleep changes, not just something else happening that affects sleep.

What’s more these sleep changes are PERMANENT. But it doesn't mean bad sleep needs to be!

The dreaded four month sleep regression | Cherished Sleep The dreaded four month sleep regression As a sleep consultant, I hear the term “regression” used for just about every imaginable reason. It’s the easiest thing to think of when a baby who has previously slept better stops doing so well. Essentially, if a baby doesn’t sleep well for a couple ...

If your 3-5-month-old is waking frequently or taking short naps, check the nursery environment.

At this age, babies become much more aware of their surroundings and spend more time in lighter stages of sleep.

Even small amounts of light (especially blue-frequency light like natural sunlight) can signal to the brain that it's time to wake up and be alert.

My recommendation?

Aim for a room so dark that you can't easily see your hand in front of your face.
YES! THAT dark.

This can help:
✅ Improve nap length
✅ Make it easier to connect sleep cycles
✅ Reduce early waking in the mornings (especially when summer comes around again).

Parents are often amazed at the difference this one little change can make.

Have you tried a truly dark room yet?

This is what one client sent to me as feedback recently:

“Our son James used to be a good sleeper, but things changed a few months before his 3rd birthday.”

What started as occasional wake ups quickly became:
• multiple night wakings
• early mornings around 5:30am
• crying and visiting Mum & Dad overnight
• sitting beside his bed for half an hour trying to sneak out

“This had been happening for several months… and one morning my husband said:
‘I don’t know how much longer I can do this.’”

Honestly, I know so many parents silently reach this point.

Exhaustion changes everything.

What I loved about this family’s story is that they didn’t want random “quick fixes.” They wanted to understand WHY things were happening.

“The internet is filled with tips, but there are so many of them and it is difficult to know what tips to follow.”

“We both had different views on it as well, and it was so helpful to have an expert tell us what was going on and give us a structured approach.”

After a thorough consult and personalised sleep plan, things started shifting.

“It started a bit rough, but from week three we really started seeing a significant improvement.”

And now?

“Most nights of the week James will sleep from 6:45/7 until 6:50.”

“There is definitely no more sitting next to his bed if he wakes up!”

And my favourite line of all:

“Having our nights back is priceless.” ✨

When children don’t get enough quality sleep, the brain becomes more emotionally reactive and less able to regulate stress and worry.

That means small problems suddenly feel BIG.

An overtired child is more likely to:
• overthink
• become emotionally overwhelmed
• struggle with frustration
• cling to parents
• feel more anxious at bedtime

And unfortunately… anxiety then makes sleep harder too.

It becomes a cycle:
😟 worry → 😴 poor sleep → 😣 bigger emotions → 😟 more worry

Sometimes improving sleep is one of the most powerful places to START.
