It looks like things are improving in the job market in New Zealand. It's also election year.
Outside Employment Law work, I do many other things such as Teaching English, Training and Employment Coaching e.g. Career Advice, CV Writing, Cover Letter Writing, Job Interview Preparation and farming.
I like to change my job every 5 years even if my employer wants me to stay. It gives me variety and better prospects.
Being versatile, learning new things, doing new courses and learning about Artificial Intelligence keeps me more employable. It's a lot of fun. Your life is in your control.
What are your plans for 2026 to keep you wanted in your employment and get promoted, get more pay etc?

It is time to upgrade, upskill and progress your career. You have to make a choice to do something or others will beat you to it.

Many employers expect you to go on their training programs or expect you to do extra courses for CPD as part of your performance improvement?

Huh, what's that? It is called Continuing Professional Development to learn more new things about your profession, new trends and technologies and what you need to know to do your job better.

If your manager, does not ask you, you need to take the initiative to ask them about your CPD.
