ยกFelicitaciones! A massive congratulations to our senior Spanish debaters!
Huge congratulations to our senior Spanish debating teams who put their language skills to the test at the National Spanish Debating Competition. They tackled some complex real-world topics, including โThe school day should be shorter" and โPeople under 16 shouldnโt have access to social media" โ all in fluent Spanish!
All of our teams did themselves incredibly proud, brought immense energy, and had a fantastic time.
A special shoutout to Zoe Pragnell, Charlotte Cassany, Zoe Nancekivell, and Natasha Weinstock, who took out 3rd place overall!
ยกFelicitaciones chicas! ยกQue estrellas son!
Congratulations girls! You are stars!

๐๐ถ๐ฒ๐น๐ฑ๐๐ผ๐ฟ๐ธ ๐๐ฟ๐ถ๐ฑ๐ฎ๐!
Our Year 13 Geography students headed out into the field last week to conduct hands-on research at Omaha Beach!
The students braved the elements to investigate spatial variation across the environment, closely analysing the relationships between dune height, vegetation species, density, wind patterns, and longshore drift.
They also investigated how human interventionsโlike sand-retaining groynes, dune planting, and predator-proof fencing to protect the local population of endangered NZ dotterelsโhelp protect and shape the coastline.
Back in the classroom, students will now use their collected data to demonstrate their understanding of these complex geographic patterns, working toward an internal assessment. This practical fieldwork also provides invaluable real-world context for their external exam at the end of the year. Brilliant work, team!

MODEL UNITED NATIONS ASSEMBLY
Last weekend, our combined Year 12 and 13 teams very successfully participated in the MUNA โ Model United Nations Assembly โ conference held at Rosmini College. Team One, led by Allan Thomas, represented the country of Algeria while Team Two, led by Payasvi Sharma, represented Norway.
Both teams spoke to Remit 1: That this Assembly supports a mandatory quota system requiring all member states to accept a fair share of refugees based on economic capacity.
Team One also spoke to Remit 4: That this Assembly calls on the United Nations to strengthen and enforce international laws guaranteeing freedom of navigation in international waters, including increased monitoring and consequences for violations.
Team Two's second remit was #3. That this Assembly supports automatic United Nations sanctions on any nation found guilty of severe human rights violations.
The Assembly was a terrific success: Both our teams spoke with confidence and flair, and were a huge credit to the school.

Our Year 10 French class took a delicious field trip to Auckland restaurant Le Garde Manger to bring our food unit to life!
Students immersed themselves in French cuisine and culture, enjoying classics like crรชpes, galettes, and traditional French onion soup.
The highlight? A few brave souls even tried ๐ฆ๐ด๐ค๐ข๐ณ๐จ๐ฐ๐ต๐ด (snails)! ๐
Most of the class stepped up to the plate (๐) to order entirely in French, putting their classroom skills to the test in the real world. Bravo, Year 10!

Our Spanish Language students recently put their Spanish knowledge to the test at an exciting inter-school quiz competition!
It was a fantastic experience that pushed our learners to use their Spanish in real-time. Moving beyond the classroom, they tackled complex rounds entirely in the target language. Also, we were especially proud to have the participation of two international students: Valentina and Isabel.
Beyond the scores, it was wonderful to see our students connecting with peers from other schools in such a high-energy environment.
ยกEnhorabuena a todos! Congratulations everyone! You represented our school with brilliance and orgullo (pride).
