Yesterday, our tamariki and kaiako had a wonderful time celebrating Uike Kātoanga’i ’o e Lea Faka-Tonga (Tongan Language Week)!

Our day was filled with vibrant music (hiva), storytelling, traditional art making, and learning new Lea Faka-Tonga words together. Our tamariki loved exploring the rich culture and sharing in the joy of the day.

A huge mālō 'aupito to all our whānau who contributed, shared koloa, or joined in the celebrations with us—you helped make it so special for our center!

Mark making and literacy go hand in hand. In our preschool room, we are beginning to notice that many of our tamariki are showing a growing interest in mark making and writing their names independently, without any assistance. It has been wonderful to see their confidence and enthusiasm develop as they explore writing through play and everyday experiences.
