🌺 Celebrating Cook Islands Language Week! 🇨🇰🌴
Our tamariki had a wonderful time celebrating Cook Islands Language Week and exploring the beautiful Cook Islands language and culture. 🌺
We learned how to say the days of the week, practised counting and numbers, and learned simple greetings in Cook Islands Māori. Our tamariki also enjoyed joining in with Cook Islands cultural songs, creating a fun and meaningful learning experience together. 🎶❤️
It was a wonderful opportunity for our tamariki to learn about another language and culture, build their cultural awareness, and celebrate diversity through music, language, and learning through play. 🌏✨

🌈 Rainbow Salt Art Fun! 🌈

Our tamariki had a wonderful time creating beautiful rainbow artwork using colourful salt sand. They carefully sprinkled the different colours to create their own unique masterpieces.

This fun, hands-on activity encouraged creativity, colour recognition, and fine motor skill development. We loved seeing their focus and pride as their colourful rainbows came to life! Ka Pai Tamariki Mā! 🎨✨

Celebrating Chinese Language Week! 🇨🇳🏮

Our tamariki had so much fun exploring the Chinese language and culture. We learned how to count and say simple greetings in Chinese, created beautiful lanterns and yin-yang artworks, and even tried our hand at Chinese calligraphy.

It has been a wonderful opportunity to learn about a new language, appreciate another culture, and enjoy creative, hands-on experiences together. 🌏❤️

✨ Mānawatia a Matariki ✨

On Thursday 2nd July, we had the pleasure of celebrating Matariki with our wonderful tamariki and whānau. ❤️

Our celebration reflected the true meaning of Matariki-honouring the past, celebrating the present, and looking ahead with hope for the future.

Our tamariki and whānau enjoyed hands-on activities, wonderful musical performances after two weeks of practice, and exciting interactive science experiences with Little Scientists. ⭐️🔬

Thank you to all our whānau who joined us and helped make the day so special. Your support made our celebration truly meaningful.

As we welcome the Māori New Year, we wish our tamariki, whānau, and community hope, growth, good health, and happiness.

🌿 Nature Through Little Hands 🌿

Every child is born with a sense of wonder. Nature invites them to keep it alive. Our tamariki in the Iti Room have been exploring the wonders of nature through sensory play. These experiences nurture their senses, support their developing minds, and foster a deep connection with the natural world around them. In every touch, gaze, and moment of curiosity, wonder is alive and growing.

🌟 Show and Tell 🌟

Every Thursday, our preschool tamariki take part in Show and Tell as part of Young World’s before school programme.

This special time gives our tamariki the opportunity to share something important from home with their friends.

Show and Tell helps build confidence, encourages communication, and supports their language development.

It links to Te Whāriki’s strand of Mana Reo strand as our tamariki learn to express their ideas, listen to others, and share their experiences.⭐️

We love seeing our tamariki proudly sharing their stories and special treasures each week. Ka Pai Tamariki Mā! 💗

On 15th May, we proudly celebrated Pink Shirt Day at Young World 💗

Together with our tamariki, we enjoyed meaningful activities that helped us learn about kindness, friendship, inclusion, and standing up against bullying. Through stories, conversations, art, and group activities, we helped children understand why Pink Shirt Day is important and how small acts of kindness can make a big difference.

It was wonderful to see our little learners spreading love, respect, and positivity throughout the day 🌸✨
