🎉 Big news for our Tōtara Point School!

Year 7 for 2027 is now available!

We’re growing! From Term 1, 2027, Tōtara Point School will extend to include Year 7 — and from Term 1, 2028, we’ll add Year 8, becoming a full primary school.

This means your child can now complete their entire primary schooling with us — an unbroken journey from Year 1 through to Year 8, with no disruption of changing schools partway through.

This growth has been approved by the Charter School Agency, reflecting their confidence in how our school is run and the quality of education we provide. And the results speak for themselves: in our first two terms, 100% of assessed students are meeting or exceeding curriculum expectations in maths and reading — ahead of the national average at every year level.

Most of all, this is about you. The demand and feedback from our families this year told us loud and clear: you want your children to keep learning with us for longer. Extending to Year 7 and Year 8 is our answer to that.

📌 Enrolments for Years 1–7 in 2027 are open now. Know a family who’d love to join us? Send them our way!

More details on Year 8 enrolments for 2028 are still yet to come. Thank you for the trust and support you place in our school every day. 🙏

Last Friday, Tōtara Point School celebrated a very special feast day — the Feast of St. Josemaría Escrivá.

To mark the occasion, the children enjoyed muffins and came to school in m***i. Throughout the week, they learned about St. Josemaría and his message that we are called to holiness in everyday life, showing that we can all become saints through ordinary, daily actions.

The celebration also included a special Mass in honour of St. Josemaría’s feast day, bringing the school community together in prayer and reflection.

As St. Josemaría once said, “To reform. Every day a little. This has to be your constant task if you really want to become a saint.” (The Way)

Happy Feast Day of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus. ❤️

Our students celebrated this Feast Day making Sacred Heart bracelets to remind themselves to wear Jesus’ heart on their sleeves.

St. Josemaría Escrivá always taught “When we recommend devotion to the Sacred Heart, we are recommending that we should give our whole self to Jesus: our soul, our feelings, our thoughts, our words, and our actions. This is what true devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus means”

💐 Happy Mother’s Day to all the amazing mums in our school community! 💐

Thank you for the love, support, and dedication you show your children and our school every day.

To celebrate you, we were delighted to host a special Mother’s Day breakfast, where our mums enjoyed a morning of delicious food, and a heartfelt performance of a Mother’s Day song performed by our students.

We hope all our mums felt appreciated, loved, and celebrated at our Mother’s Day event.

Happy Mother’s Day! ❤️🌷

Good Friday

Why is it good? Because it leads to Jesus’ resurrection, which is as St Paul says, the basis of our faith.

On this day we recommend reading St Josemaría Escrivá Homily on Christ’s Death is the Christian’s life.
