Celebrating Papua New Guinea Language Week! 🇵🇬✨
Room 11 spent the week diving into the rich culture and traditions of Papua New Guinea. To mark the occasion, students learned about the significance of the Bilum—the traditional handwoven bag iconic to PNG culture. Bilums carry everything from daily food and supplies to precious babies—and every pattern tells a story. We’re so proud of the creativity and respect our learners showed while exploring this vibrant heritage.

What a fantastic day at MOTAT! 🚂🧸 Room 2 spent the day comparing toys from past decades to the modern gadgets of today. From vintage wooden blocks and tin wind-ups to modern tech, the kids loved seeing how play has changed over time!

Last week Room 18 marked Filipino Language Week with a vibrant celebration of culture through traditional Filipino folk dance. Way to go, Room 18!!!

Last week Fairburn and Otahuhu primary schools took to the pitch for a friendly soccer match. From wild saves and near-misses to endless cheering from the sidelines, both teams left everything out on the field. Huge shoutout to both teams for showing us what true sportsmanship looks like.

Our mini paleontologists in Room 30 turned the classroom into an ancient excavation site last week. Using a salt dough recipe, everyone sculpted, stamped, and created their very own prehistoric fossils. Wow! Amazing stuff Room 30!

Got the creative itch? 🎨 Join the Fairburn School Arts & Crafts Group! From painting to DIY crafts, they are making cool things and hanging out every Monday and Tuesday in Room 13 at lunchtime. No experience needed, just bring your imagination!
