What a wonderful end to Term 2 for our school transition programme.

This term, our tamariki have continued to build confidence, independence, and a strong sense of belonging as they visited the school environment, joined classroom experiences, explored the library, and played alongside new friends. We are so proud to see how confidently the children engaged, asked questions, followed routines, and showed readiness for their next learning journey.

A big thank you to our kaiako, whānau, and our school transition partners for supporting this meaningful programme.

Now we are looking forward to our July School Holiday Programme.

During Week 1, we will be celebrating Matariki through stories, art, music, kai, and shared learning. As Matariki public holiday falls on Friday 10 July, our Matariki celebration party will be held on Thursday 9 July.

Week 2 will bring more holiday fun, including dress-up day, bad hair day, games, baking, and relaxed shared experiences.

We look forward to another two weeks of creativity, culture, friendship, and fun at WonderKids.

It’s a kiwi!
After exploring the Matariki map and listening to the story of Flit and Keri overcoming challenges on their journey home, the children created their own kiwi birds, using brown and white lines to represent the kiwi’s feathers.

Thank you, Mrs Scott, for your creativity and thoughtful planning in the programme. We are also very grateful to Sarah for sharing the Matariki stories with us. The children have benefited so much from these meaningful experiences, and we truly appreciate our school transition programme School
